Hi All,

I dusted the Z4 off for its MOT the other week so while it was nice and clean decided to get a coat of Zymol Vintage on it.

The Boxster currently has 2 coats which are now showing signs of reduced protection via beading but on the whole still looks since its been on for 8 ish months!

Anyway, ill lets the photos talk for themselves,

I love Vintage! I wish The UK would match US prices or better them and i would order a pot today!

Thanks for looking

Great finish. what polisher and polish etc etc do you use?

it looks like you have no paint swirls or anything.

Bloody hell, I'm guessing that's not cheap stuff! (judging by the DW banner in the background too...)

Quite a question...

Well im a novice, and i think with care, the right gear and alot of time you can get pretty good. Would you believe the Z4 was my first full correction.. not an ideal car to start on with all the edges and panels.

Just dont start moaning if you bugger the paint. lol

Cheers

you have laminate wood flooring in your garage?! :o

(yes yes I know, no doubt lino, just amused me  )

so what polishing machine do you use?

been looking at a load and the Poter cable sems good but not readily available. and people say its easy to burn paint with some rotary-(edit) polishers

Great Reflections

Thought the Orbital polishers were quite safe it is Rotarys that can burn paint really easily.

Have thought about machine polishing but i own a Silver car and very hard to swirl spot outside.

damn this forum is not good for my OCD

That looks fantastic PaulN!

Mine has a fair few swirls and I noticed a little haze when I polished it on Saturday... need to get serious about my polishing now! :)

omg thats possibly the best shine i have ever seen on a Z4.. its practically a mirror.

That + the wooden garage flooring makes mine feel rather shabby now.

Very nice finish. I just looked up a price on the Zymol vintage glaze. Damn near fell off my chair.

$2184.00 for 22 ozs, free refills for life though. Holy s**t !!!

I thought Vintage was formulated for older paints, not the modern water-based stuff they have robots spraying now?

Vintage is for all paint types.
