Front Bumper Removal - DIY by mister_roger

I need to remove the bumper to replace the fogs. But I have the headlight washers and wanted to ask if there is any special way of removing them or are they attached to the bumpee from behind?

Remove the caps on the bumper first then you can reach inside the wheelarch (remove the flap cover there) and disconnect the washer pump from that side and remove. I used some heat to remove the tube from the pump first but you could just let it hang on the tube.

What a good write up, haven't worked up the courage to change my lower grill yet but this will come in handy when I do.

And easier option for you might be to remove the front wheels, and remove the wheel arch liners. On the prefacelift, that gives good access to the fog lights - but I'm not sure about the facelift.

It might be worth checking before upsetting a lot of brittle clips?

To answer the question, another option is to undo the bolt holding the washer fluid tank in place, pulling it up, and disconnecting the headlight washer hose from there, and taking it all out as one connected piece. Then there's no need to disturb anything else as they are attached to the bumper from behind. Their only physical attachment to the main car is the water pipe

The flap is enough to remove, not the whole liners - that is not necessary

Should have mentioned that I also have the lower grill that I want to replace at the same time. I think that it requires the removal of the bumper.

Yes, that will require removal

I'd advise getting a metal cutter of some sort to remove the old one-time-use metal washers/clamps, as forcing them off can damage the studs, meaning the new ones won't fit on properly. You'll see what I mean when you look at it

I had to glue my grill in, as the plastic studs had been snapped off/short by a previous owner

Bumper is off, easier than expected. Only downside was that I lost all washer fluid, which was full…
