Safe wheel cleaner?

I'm after a safe wheel cleaner that can be used as a weekly wash.
I've got bilt hamber which says it's water based rather than acid based.

I've also had my wheels refurbished and sealed with gtechniq so don't want to erode that either.

I normally use car wash but as that can contain waxes I don't want that on the brake disc! I used bilt gambler wash once on the GFs wheels and that was frightening when I first used the brakes .

I use Bilberry on my Zed and my diamond cut Mercedes alloys. It's non-acid so is nicer the use, kinder to the wheels, doesn't irritate the skin and also does a good job. I won't use anything else now which means I have 4 litres of autoglym acid based cleaner in my garage.

The bilt hamber you're using should be fine as it non-acid.

Normally, if you have your wheels treated then the mildest of washes should suffice, but otherwise I use mild stardrops or in ascending order of cleaning power, bilberry then Bilthamber Korrosol iron remover.

+1 for bilberry but I don't let it dwell. Spray, agitate with brush, rinse, wash, rinse and only one wheel at a time :lol:

If they are sealed you shouldn’t even need a wheel cleaner..... a bucket of warm soapy water should be fine.

I use Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel which is great but my protection on my wheels is long gone. When I do seal them again I’ll be going back to warm soapy water

Ok. I have normally used Muc Off but ran out, hence why I started using AG body shampoo. The muc off does contain any wax as far as I know.

I use this one weekly, ph neutral. I would get 5 litres though as it sprays generously. Brilliant stuff, sometimes I just give the wheels a little exaggeration with a wheel brush and rinse off.

Agree you should not need any sort of wheel cleaner I use my regular body shampoo Megs Gold Class but I can clean my wheels with plain hot water if I need to

If a good clean is needed before sealing would recommend Dragons Breath (But be warned - Smells as evil as it sounds but great stuff) but once sealant is used wouldn't touch it with anything other than a mild shampoo as already stated

+1 for Bilt. Use it each time I wash the car and accumulated dirt pretty much comes off with the pressure washer and no agitation. Stinks a bit though.
