    Oil Sump 11137553164

Hi Rich8, Back in November 2020 I had to have a new oil pan / sump fitted on my 2007 facelift E85 as the original had started to corrode badly around the oil level sensor port and was leaking oil: Long story short, I had to buy a brand new sump, part number B11.13.7.553.164. So it's the same...

    Wing mirror glass

The near side mirror started to become loose on my E85 back in 2019 and so I took both mirrors off and refixed them using Araldite two pack. I've not had any problems since and the car is a daily driver and on the road all year round. I've no idea whether it would be problematic trying to get...

What have you done to your car today?

N52B25 (2.5si). To be fair, after I put the fuel treatment in the tank, I reset the mpg counter and went for a long-ish drive which did not involve too much low gear work so I dare say the figures will come down a bit once I get back to doing the daily commute to work. I was still pleasantly...

What have you done to your car today?

Added a bottle of Wynn's Formula Gold Petrol System Treatment. Was getting 39.2 m.p.g. Now getting 42.1 m.p.g. Sometimes I think I'm a bit too obsessed with the hyper miling 😊 Anyway, I swear by the Wynn's Formula Gold (y)

    2.5 N52 oil consumption

My 2007 2.5si has settled down to 1L of oil about every 1200 miles. The oil level sensor has become noticeably more erratic over the last few years so it might be worth keeping a note of your top up stats so you don't end up over filling your engine with oil. I recently bought a new sensor...

    New Phone help please.

Went into the EE shop the other day just to check a couple of settings on the phone. An hour later and I'm walking out with a new phone with even more bells and whistles than the old one which wasn't very old anyway. So far the only thing that annoys me about the new phone is, that although I'm...

What have you done to your car today?

I see what you mean regarding the colour. If we're looking at the same pictures on the UpgradeAutoParts ebay store, the sixth picture down shows the LEDs lit up and looking very yellow / orange in colour. In reality LED array looks the same (crimson ?) red as the two brake lights either side. I...

What have you done to your car today?

Just checked that the LED light strip is working ok and all of them are lighting up . I know it's only after a couple of weeks but hopefully they'll last for five or six years by which time the unit will have started to dull anyway :)

What have you done to your car today?

The fitment was spot on apart from not being quite flush with the boot lid. The Chinese made item which it replaced was the same, and the original (?) which that one replaced had split down the middle, possibly as a result of the nuts being over tightened? So I just accepted it and made sure not...

    Downpipe exhaust gasket

Hi bz4kev, My mechanic renewed the downpipe gaskets on my 2007 2.5si in September of last year. Not the easiest of jobs to do it seems, but it had got to the stage where driving on any water soaked roads made it sound as if the exhaust pipes had fallen off. I had bought 40mm length stainless...
