Wing mirror glass

Hi, after a bit of advice please. My passenger wing mirror glass was shaking so I have removed it before it came off. I was planning to reattach with either evostik series glue or 3M VHB tape as I believe these are heat and water resistant. I have read epoxy may be too strong if ever I needed to get it off again e.g. cracked mirror, so I have discounted this.

Firstly, anyone have any opinions on which option would be best?

Secondly, whatever was used before has left hard blobs on the heating pad which I can't get off. I thought about using a heat gun but not sure whether this will affect the heating elements? Any tips on how to remove to get a smooth surface (or should I just apply new tape/glue around the pre-existing hardened glue (or whatever it is)?

If one has fallen off it won’t be long before the other one does, keep checking it’s okay.

The near side mirror started to become loose on my E85 back in 2019 and so I took both mirrors off and refixed them using Araldite two pack. I've not had any problems since and the car is a daily driver and on the road all year round.
I've no idea whether it would be problematic trying to get them off as you suspect, but I've got no reason to try as they are working as they should.
Not sure if this helps.

Thanks all. Think I'm gonna go with evostik. Sounds like there are multiple options and all seem to work ok.
