    SOLD BMW Z4 e85 | 2.5i Petrol | Manual | 2003 | Maldives Blue

There's also a potential for this to be one and the same character, unfortunately. For anyone reading this now or in the future - yes, this is a very unusual situation and I have offered to assist @Gwest44 on the side-lines. That said, I can say with absolute confidence that I would never have...

The forum always wins, right! Once again, thank you very much for the nudge in the right direction.

Airbag (and Intermittent Battery) Light - Code 986B

That turned out to be exactly the issue, though interestingly the plug looked to be in pretty good shape, with only the slightest bit of tarnish on the pins. I also removed the passenger door card and gave the airbag connector a quick spray with contact cleaner, even though it looked spotless...

Airbag (and Intermittent Battery) Light - Code 986B

I'll investigate this, thanks for the tip. Is the plug that you refer to behind the door card and membrane?

Airbag (and Intermittent Battery) Light - Code 986B

The very intermittent battery light is a pain and I've been waiting for it to throw a code, but none have surfaced that can be directly linked. The battery is a shy less than 5 years old and still within it's Varta warranty period. I don't think it's at fault, but I am open to trying a...

    Air bag SBSL module reprogramming

That's a bummer. If you can get ISTA working, I should be able to help you out. Otherwise, hopefully there will be someone a bit more local to you.

    Air bag SBSL module reprogramming

Do you have any of the software running and cables? I have had to go through this very same procedure recently so would be happy to repay the favour remotely.

    A very fair point!

    Central Airbag Module

I would definitely go down the repair route. Crashdata receive very good online reviews and charge considerably less than a replacement unit. I'm almost certain that you'll still be able to drive without the unit and clear all the codes later. Although maybe someone could confirm this for sure?

No Stock Or ETA For Replacement Airbag Module - What To Do?

@enuff_zed has managed to source and deliver a replacement SBSL for which I am ever so grateful! This has now been installed, coded and cleared the airbag light. I've written a closure here to my original thread with what I learned in the process. Thank you all for your help. :driving:
