We’ve had the pleasure of owning this exceptional BMW Z4 2.5i for the past eight years, and it continues to put a smile on our faces every time we see it or take it out on the road. From its striking Maldives Blue exterior to the classic Beige Oregon leather interior, and of course the unmistakable soundtrack of the straight-six engine, this Z4 embodies everything a true roadster should be.

Nonetheless, after so many years of reliability and enjoyment, the time has come for someone else to experience the joy this car brings. It may be a cliché, but we are confident that this truly is the best example of a first generation (e85) Z4 in the country. Maintained to the very highest standard both mechanically and cosmetically, it has been nothing short of our pride and joy.

Not normally a fan of the lighter interiors but that looks great. GLWS.

Love a wood dash and that is a well specced model with plenty of factory options ticked - certainly looks like a lot of car for the money. GLWTS 👍

Xenons and power-fold mirrors seem to be quite rare options - GLWTS.

Maldives blue is the best colour! If a member is interested in buying the car, perhaps they live far away, I am happy to look at the car on their behalf, as it is local to me

Having recently sold my E89 & E86 I agreed to purchase this lovely example from @EViS and picked it up on Friday.

However, true to form, I have subsequently agreed a deal on another E89. So having put just over 200 miles on the car driving back from Lingfield to Sheffield it's now back up for sale.

@EViS has agreed to leave this listing open but please be advised the car is now in Sheffield under my stewardship.

Love the colour. Is it buyers remorse after owning it only for a few days or discovered a problem? Seems odd.

Looks like the wheels could use a refurb, along with the seats needing a good clean. Rust on the arches it looks like too, although hard to see (from the wheel photos above), not sure if you noticed this @orange just a heads up

Welcome to the forum and I appreciate your concern and subsequent insight on my car - as I said I'd agreed a deal on an E89. Appreciate your new but to provide some context the Maldives E85 is my 30th Zed.

Thanks, it does seem odd and perhaps alludes to something wrong with the car. Personally I’m not sure why you’d buy a car and pickup whilst clearly in early discussion around the subsequent replacement vehicle… surely just not pickup the former and wait ? :). Either that or you’ve too much money to burn and a Z4 addiction :)

You'll have to let me know when your new biography is due to be released covering my fourm membership and subsequent Z4 ownership 🤣

As a new member of less than 24 hours, I would respectfully suggest you spend a little time on this forum prior to casting aspersions regarding a long-standing and very respected forum member.

I was about to write more or less the same thing! Well said!
Is this the new 'fb' approach? Pop up and start criticising before you've even introduced yourself?

There's also a potential for this to be one and the same character, unfortunately.

For anyone reading this now or in the future - yes, this is a very unusual situation and I have offered to assist @Gwest44 on the side-lines. That said, I can say with absolute confidence that I would never have sold anything other than a well-maintained and reliable zed. Much of it's history has been documented over my eight years on this forum, supported by advice, guides, and contributions from other members. If there was anything knowingly wrong with the zed, I would have long left this forum and setup an alias... wait... is that still an option? 😅

I was wondering how a new member had managed to leap straight in and talk about rust that even @EViS and @Gwest44 hadn't initially spotted. Some kind of crystal ball link between @george_terry and @orange perhaps.

Obviously apologies if the stick has been firmly grasped at the wrong end, but I will be a tad circumspect in any conversations with these two. ;)

Am I the only one who can't even see any rust in the photos, and thinks that one wheel being a bit kerbed is not an issue? It's 22 years old and £3k.

Exactly. Having chatted with the initial seller it became clear that one potential buyer asked for clarification on this even thoiugh no-one can see it. Hence the suspicious nature of a completely new member popping up and immediately criticising the sale process, with specific reference to the rust?
Call me a conspiracy theorist if you will...........................

I think I missed the timing on this by a couple of weeks, having just joined the forum - I did see it on Autotrader recently. I'm just up the road from Lingfield and would have made a great first step in to Z4 owenership
