What is this little gear thing?

I reckon you're right! The little drawer hatch to the right of the steering wheel isnt damped now, I wonder if it had popped out at some point but sat inside the panel until we opened the panel and then it fell out. Sounds like it to me. Thanks mate!

What is this little gear thing?

We're at the Welsh Zedshed looking at my roof, and while waiting for it to reset, we went to swap out a clutch speed sensor that was throwing a code. On removing the panel under the steering column to access the sensor, I saw a little plastic piece pop out, but i didn't see where it went...

Rear Tyres - Are 255/30R19's considered unobtanium?

Doesn't that mess up the speedometer/Odometer?

Rear Tyres - Are 255/30R19's considered unobtanium?

Not an immediate need, but since my other family car needs a couple rear tires ahead of the MOT, I thought I'd start looking for new rear tyres on my E89. Currently it's got Goodyear F1 Eagle Asymmetric 5's on it, but the rears (255/30R19) need a swap in that they are both running down for...

Hey, a certain country to the north of them plays them hard in "Ice-skating with sticks".

Quick one - does opening the door whilst also opening the roof cause a known malfunction?

Cheers, thank you! I'll see what comes up once I can get to the zedshed and have the codes read

Quick one - does opening the door whilst also opening the roof cause a known malfunction?

Update. Got it all closed without releasing the pressure. On one of the give-it-time and try again efforts, in pressing the close button I got the roof panel to go all the way up and nearly closed. Next attempt after turning the car on and off, it closed all the way through, no issues. I'm just...

....cant get to the pump because its in the batter compartment, completely blocked by the roof 🤦‍♂️

Quick one - does opening the door whilst also opening the roof cause a known malfunction?

Okay, where are the pump pressure valves? I'm assuming that pressure just keeps the roof panels in the position they are in while partially opened

Quick one - does opening the door whilst also opening the roof cause a known malfunction?

Okay, so just weird timing then with the door. I've put a basic code reader on but it reads nothing. I guess i need a BMW-specific one. The intermittent nature of it is weird. As in, if I leave it and then come back and try to open/close, it moves a bit then stops again. But then - if a wire...

Quick one - does opening the door whilst also opening the roof cause a known malfunction?

Update- i turned off the car, got out and locked door, gave it a few mins. When I get back in the car, I get the tone-of-death with "roof system" warning, but if i try to continue opening roof, it moves a little further through. I did this a few times and got it fully open. Now, I'm trying to...

Quick one - does opening the door whilst also opening the roof cause a known malfunction?

Went to drive to work this morning. Used my key fob to start the roof opening. In a slight rush, I opened the driver door about halfway through the rood cycle (roof portions mostly seated, boot lid still up). Roof stopped immediately, and now wont open or close (it says roof obstruction). Roof...

What have you done to your E89 today

Yeah, but it'd look stupid once I adjusted the bumper panel up in the future.

What have you done to your E89 today

So....it doesn't have a torque rating? Man.... I am not a support of either team. I'm a firm GB Packers fan for over 30 years. I was gifted tickets to last season's Wembley hilarity so I bought a souvenir program at the game. Stafford and co dismantled the Jags, but it was a good atmosphere all...
