What have you done to your E89 today

Yeah, but it'd look stupid once I adjusted the bumper panel up in the future.

What have you done to your E89 today

So....it doesn't have a torque rating? Man.... I am not a support of either team. I'm a firm GB Packers fan for over 30 years. I was gifted tickets to last season's Wembley hilarity so I bought a souvenir program at the game. Stafford and co dismantled the Jags, but it was a good atmosphere all...

What have you done to your E89 today

After taking some time away to sort through some family death/Big "C" diagnoses, I realized I'm only a week away from my big drive up to Campbeltown from Bristol for Springbank Whisky School....so time to get ready! First, this past weekend I bought all these supplies that I've been meaning to...

    &#%@! Hood Emblem stolen/knocked off!

Thank you - i think this is the route I may go down - can I ask what adhesive you used?

    &#%@! Hood Emblem stolen/knocked off!

As in, repair paint? Can I ask how you can tell? I'm curious, as I'd like to see if thats the case...

    &#%@! Hood Emblem stolen/knocked off!

You've noticed! I did too, been reading a bit on it. I most notice it around the headlights. I'm guessing this isn't normal. The car wasnt listed with any previous damage or bumps. Sounds like the panels can be adjusted but its a bit of a pain?

    &#%@! Hood Emblem stolen/knocked off!

I feel like a Compression test would have either made the problem better (pressed it on good) or far worse......

    &#%@! Hood Emblem stolen/knocked off!

Well that didnt take long. Took my Z4 for a drive to RAF Northolt to see my military dentist, and either while it was parked there, or while it was parked on the Ruislip high street, looks like my hood emblem was either knocked off or stolen, as i didnt see it fly off during the ride, and it was...

Boot lid slightly not flush on one side

I did replace the soft close mechanism a week ago. I didn't realize i had to align or mark anything.....any guidance on how to proceed/set it properly?

Boot lid slightly not flush on one side

Hey gents, me again! Something I noticed today - after opening up the roof, the boot edge doesn't quite seem flush on the driver side when I look at it in the rear view mirror, whereas the passenger side, it does. I've inspected the joints after opening the roof in service mode, everything...

    Thats a new one!

Driving up the M32 with my usual perma-smile that follows driving with my Z4's top down earlier this week, a random panel flew off in my car's cockpit. Looks like a plastic piece where the snaps have just dried out, I tried to flex one and it snapped straight off. Anyone else ever have...

What have you done to your E89 today

My hilarious solder repair for my boot soft-close mechanism failed after...5 days? I swapped it out with a spare mechanism purchased from the previous owner (with original BMW wiring - what could go wrong?). So far, it's holding.

First problem (hooray!) - boot slightly ajar for no reason

Thanks mate - the embarrassing thing is that I did use Flux! Brushed it on and tried to heat the wire for a minute or two and it just never actually heated the solder, only when the solder directly contacted the iron did it melt and become workable. I'm sure its lack of experience. Also...

First problem (hooray!) - boot slightly ajar for no reason

Agreed fully.. Other side was the original wiring, funny enough. Something about that left side....
