Get it, just got a 13 plate sl350 sport amg(the poverty spec model), it'll be a different driving experience, our 07 3.0l si z4 felt quicker but the slk will be lighter so can't see there being much difference, just more of a refined drive than hard core z4. I presume they've refined the latest...

It's a 13 plate sl350, doing 40k a year so comfort was more of an issue. Thought it would be underpowered but drive it differently - always been a bmw man mostly so merc was usually not considered, time will tell!

Lucky you, keep on being amused - stick that on the porsche 911 forum and see what response you get! Just got an sl merc (hence partners z4 traded in for cooper s) and surprisingly enough, prefer it to the 911, never had so many people comment so much on a car. Just going out to wash them...

Hardly scaremongering, we've had 2 boxsters and 3 911s in the last 5 years - one boxster needed a 6k engine rebuild and as mentioned earlier one 911 after we sold it- all with full service history. Still got a 911 with gen2 engine- no probs so far. We've walked the walk.....

Had a 977 Carrera s for a year- read the 911 forum re: bore scoring, mine needed a new engine at 45k - cost the guy who bought it 7k plus, I had warranty but for 3k max so if was a lucky escape. Don't see why you should lose your licence any more than any other car, all down to how you drive it!
