Oil Sump 11137553164

Hi

I need a new oil sump for my 2007 manual z4 coupe 3.0si.
The part number is 11137553164.

Apparently this is now a discontinued part, and it seems there is none available anywhere in europe.

All breakers that have been contacted are reluctant to sell just the sump - wanting to sell as whole engines instead.

There seem to be plenty of aftermarket options which say they fit a 2007 z4 coupe, (like this one: https://ultimatestyling.co.uk/bmw-1...-pan-aluminium-includes-drain-plug-ult0193-vm )
but they all give different OEM part numbers for the parts they replace.

(I am seeing 11137539412 and 11137552414 a lot, but not 11137553164)

I understand the sump pans for the manual and the auto are different, so assuming the parts i am coming up with are to replace the pan on an auto?

It's pretty unlikely that anyone on here has one lying around (if anyone does and happy to part with it, please message me) , but more likely am hoping someone else with a manual 3.0 coupe may have changed theirs to an aftermarket one that fits and can direct me to a seller???

I am a bit stuck. Dont want to get rid of the car - had it for 15 years and its got a good few years left in it yet if can only locate a new sump.

I recon you could probably get an automatic sump to a manual car. I'd not want to proceed without checking further, but the difference seems to be by the oil sensor, where it bolts up near the bell housing. I reckon with the longer bolts, you'd probably be fine.

Black steel is manual. Silver alloy is auto

If the capacity is the same or not, I don't know (but I'd expect it is?)

The auto sump apparently has a few differences that prevent it from pushing up to the housing. Potential for it to fit, but only with some fabrication and adjustments that i don't have the skills for (and if my usual indy does, i don't think they have the appetite for).

I will go second hand if needed, but hoping for a direct replacement - 2nd hand or aftermarket - that fits without needing to bodge it.

It's odd that there seems to be more than one aftermarket option for the auto out there, but seemingly none for the manual.
 
Some years ago a forum member with a manual E85 3.0Si had a sump that started leaking due to corrosion and he struggled to find a replacement. He ended up finding an alloy one, but sadly I don't know where.

According to realoem E8* 1 Series and E9* 3 Series with the N52 engine use the same part so that might help widen your search. Good luck anyway. :thumbsup:

Back in November 2020 I had to have a new oil pan / sump fitted on my 2007 facelift E85 as the original had started to corrode badly around the oil level sensor port and was leaking oil:

Long story short, I had to buy a brand new sump, part number B11.13.7.553.164. So it's the same item for the 3.0si as for the 2.5si it seems.
I got it from Sytner BMW Shrewsbury. They were super helpful and the sump was ready for collection in a few days. It's a long shot but it might be worth giving them a call.
Here are a couple of photos of the sump which I took just after I bought it. It was £382.50 ex VAT back in 2020 so it seemed to make sense to record it for posterity 🙂

I think this is the item you need, made out of pressed steel, not aluminium.
It's maddening to think that the presses for making these things may still be out there somewhere but not in use.
My old sump is up in the attic in case it might be needed again.

Yeah, that is the part i need.
I had already tried synters as i found an ad for it from them during my previous search.
Alas, when you try and order it, or phone and speak to them, it comes up as having been discontinued just 6 months ago, and none available across any of the dealer network in europe ☹️

Mine also corroded and leaks at same place as yours did.
