Thanks for the location context.If it’s a 3000 with the 3l straight six, they can be surprisingly quick. Years ago, one easily kept pace with my 225hp Mk I Audi TT on the dual carriageways between Frimley Park Hospital and Sandhurst (location reference for Mr T), both accelerating from traffic lights and at high speed.
I had a drive in a mate's late Healey 3000 some years ago and I loved it. RWD, manual, a lovely straight 6 soundtrack and decently quick - the only thing missing was a roof.
And while it sounded better it wasn't as quick as my 3.0Si that I drove home in.
You're right about the Aston too - it made a change to see one that wasn't silver!
