Potholes in Britain.

Whoa whoa the f**k whoa there Mr Pondlington….Are you suggesting someone is putting the British taxpayer first…?? 😱 Blasphemy young man..!! 🫵
Nope. It was a complete lie. The reform UK bit was true but the rest was in my very vivid imagination.

Not only do we have millions of potholes here in the fens, but because all the roads were built on reclaimed land (from the marshes/sea), we have huge amounts of road subsidence. Potholes are cheap to repair compared to subsidence and heave. So they just don't.

Add to the ground issues the fact that we have lots and lots of 35 tonne HGV traffic (food logistics hub) using crap roads. It's a perfect storm.

Add in underground water mains and sewage leaks everywhere which wash away the sub-soil, it is a perfect storm and some.

RICHARD..!! 😱 It’s a witch hunt is what it is…🤨

Don’t cut your finger with that scalpel will you….🫵

See…this is exactly where I need the poky stick thingy….☹️
Sorry John, where are my manners? Can I offer you a pokey stick, I have plenty of spares? :poke: :poke: :poke: :poke:

I had to fit 2 new wishbones on our Fiesta, less than 3 years since I fitted the present ones.

Whenever I visit your neck of the woods I notice that the roads are worse than they are here.
When I come up the hill from Oxon to Bucks, I can almost see the county line, as the roads get instantly worse.
Considering you live in the 'affluent south east' it's not good.

I drive around Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Bucks, also west Yorkshire and ventured up to Bury in Zuffolk a few weeks ago.
To be honest, most of the roads are sh1t, as well as the standards of driving.
