What have you done to your car today?

Today I have mostly been fitting the 224's and changing the kidney grilles to black.

When I initially fitted the wheels, the rears stuck out massively! But now the suspension has settled again, they look pretty much spot on to me.

I've added 10mm Bimecc front spacers. Rears are just fitted straight on.

Today, on my 2 owner (I'm the 2nd) 2004 2.5 auto 176600 miler, I upgraded the seats.
I took in a set of LCI standard heated electric seats.
I disassembled the passenger seat out the 2.5 and extracted the occupancy sensor and transplanted it into the LCI passenger seat and reassembled using zip ties to replace the hog rings i had to cut.

From my vast stock of parts, I had an appropriate heated switch module and swapped that in to the centre console.

I vacuumed the car while the seats were out then refitted the LCI seats and tested.

All working perfectly.

The battery was disconnected prior to disconnecting the seat looms and reconnected once both looms had been reconnected.

Had the front bumper painted to remove a couple of deep scratches. I've still not learned how to judge the end of that long front end so hope that this will be the last time.

Replaced the plates with pressed aluminium versions. Both were showing their age and the front one was cracked, so time to do that. Just need some screw caps as the originals disintegrated.

(Yes, I know it's filthy, haven't had a chance to clean it yet this week)

Fitted Osram LED XTRs to the dipped projectors. What a ballache - a right PITA to get the H7 adaptor to fit.
Really hoping to see an improvement on the commute though with the days getting longer, might be some time before I'm driving in the dark again.

Today I fitted my seats.
I've had these some months and the backs, they've been via the upholsters to have the heating elements removed from donor msport seats and fitted into these msport seats.
The bases were the bases from the donor set as they were heated and have been reinforced with springs out of standard seats and the motors and loom from a drivers seat, fitted into a passenger seat, with a LHD switch pack this providing memory passenger seat.

So you used LHD drivers side electric base for this.
I like your dash, I have the blue highlight version.

No. UK passenger side base with the motors and loom from UK drivers base, the only thing I've had to source is the LHD switch pack. I was fortunate to find one on eBay for £15. They can be sourced easily enough but cost a bit more. The LHD also has a different part number.

You also need to feed a CAN wire to the appropriate pin in the seat loom that comes out the floor. You're able tap in to any other CAN wire. I chose the wire that goes to the drivers seat and fed it through 5mm protective sleeve and got it over the central tunnel and straight up the passenger loom to the pin. Without the CAN, the memory function will not work.

Took it for a spin at dusk and although an improvement, light throw is still poor. On the upside, no flashes from oncoming traffic so beam pattern must be OK. If I keep the car will have to look at complete headlight overhaul for those winter country lane commutes.

As every new car seems to glare all the time I don't think anyone would notice if yours did TBH.

Today I upgraded speakers, FOCAL 165 AS3 serie and I have to say that its like night and day. If anyone is considering this, don't think about it anymore. Do it. But don't forget the mounting beers...

Fog lamp project update. Finally got around to cleaning both up and giving them a coat of paint.
Need to paint the reflectors with some chrom paint tomorrow, then seal and fit the lens’s.

So these went straight into your E85? Woofers in the footwells, mids in the doors, tweeters obviously in the triangles?
Any photos?

They do fit - but you'll need to 3D print some spacers/adaptors. More info in this thread :)
