M market watch

Going by the numbers it obviously wasn't popular when they were new, but that isn't to say it isn't now. But like I said I've spent too many years owning silver cars already, so I talked myself into Silver Grey - mainly because of the red interior!

My first Z4 was Ruby Black so I know exactly what you mean about trying to keep black looking smart. I talked myself into that one because of the word "Ruby" and I loved the grey interior.

When less than 600 M Coupes were sold in the UK you could be waiting years to find a specific colour combination!
Your right with the low numbers, can't be too picky, I'm in no mad rush if no silvers come up, I would be happy with black, I've always said it's both the best and the worst colour at the same time!

Congratulations.

I always enjoy a long drive home in a new car, but have never bought from 500 miles
Thanks, occasionally I get lucky and find something local, but most of my cars come from around London or further.
No specific reason other than much more choice.

It’s not a big deal really, normally just fly down and drive home, but it does rely on an honest description, and that’s not always the case.

You hear a lot from sellers complaining about time wasters, but sellers can be just as bad.

It’s good when it all works out though.

ZM prices are all over the place. And I actually struggle to value mine - which is a MC. It seems that low mileage well looked after cars in unusual colours can command a high price and sell. Witness the AW and SB cars that have recently gone for around £30k. Then we have quite nice cars that obviously have been looked after but have higher mileages (over 80,000) and they are pitched at the £18,000 mark. Then the 100,000 plus cars seem to struggle at more than £14,000. And then there appear to be cars that just sit there unsold for ever…..

With all this in mind, and while I am not contemplating selling as I generally keep cars for 10 years plus, I would have thought that my Interlagos blue with 33,000 miles and full no expense spared history and pretty much concours condition would be around £24000. And it will get Aeros soon courtesy of John-e89! ILB is nice but quite common and if Titanium Silver had been available at the time I would have preferred that (but only with IR interior). So that’s a negative for the car. Also it’s not really spec’d with anything (again not so good, but less to go wrong). In its favour though it has Syrah Blue interior and it is the only one in the world….. there is another ILB/SB but that has a different (alloy) dash.

But I have seen so many ILBs sitting in dealers unsold. Why is that?

I think these are abit of a marmite car, I think there is a certain type of person who wants these and more people prefer an E46 M3, their prices are all over the place aswell, low examples going for silly money, more than a well used CSL!

This E46 sold for 90k now up again for sale at 120k LOL!
I don't think any Z4 M will reach this unless its just rolled off the production line and been in protective covers since then...

There was around 15 M Coupes for sale around November time I think and only 4 now, so either sold or taken off sale.

This has been for sale since May 2023!

I'd get an ILB over any other colour, even painted my old Z3 M in it as it looks different shades in certain lighting conditions. :D
Would prefer an Alpine white or Imola Red now I'm after a Z4 M.

It's £27,950 now.

I'd love an Imola Red one, but would rather have any interior colour than black! Strange spec on that car too with no parking sensors and a horrible brushed aluminium dash - who in their right mind would choose that?

ILB is my second favourite colour and Clive's must look fantastic with Syrah Blue leather.

Mine has done 99K miles so no doubt it's value is about to plummet - just as well it's a keeper!

I may have got my 7 and 9 mixed up there lol

Rather have brush aluminium then scratch me to death black gloss, which should be banned! :D

Thank you Mr Tidy for liking my ZM colour combo. That said as you have dislike of black interiors you might not like Syrah blue as it’s a very dark midnight blue. In dull old U.K. it has a tendency to look black!

I have seen Syrah Blue in a silver E85 and while it is quite dark, it's a massive improvement over black!

If helps, if I was in the market looking for another MC I would be interested in learning about this one. Interesting back story, decent mileage, interior looks clean, I would want additional details on service history though before I went any further.

Drivers seat looks like it will need some work, but rest of the car looks like it is in decent condition.

That ILB one with Champagne leather does look tempting. If I didn't already have one I'd probably have a look at that.

2006 BMW Z4M 44k miles

My OCD is telling me the Interior looks like it needs a deep clean!

Running in check @ 10,500 miles? A month after it was registered …. That is an over excited new owner…maybe a typo..
