Chinese Grand Prix - F1 question again, sorry!

I can be quite naïve at times. As an example, while I was lying in a hospital bed on my back stark naked (it is what they asked me to do, due to an inspection process), a male nurse came up and said I looked quite fit. I said that I used to play football and ran a lot so it kept me trim. When I told my wife she said that he was coming on to me and that was not the kind of 'fit' that he meant. It never crossed my mind that it was his intention.

Anyway, my question is, why is it that the millionaire F1 drivers all have pretty girlfriends? It does seem odd to me that all of them are pretty.
 
Millionaires and celebrity attract celebrity wannabes that circulate around the same parties & social activities as each other.
 
F1 drivers are intelligent, Lance Stropp aside…😬, and don’t generally go out with un-intelligent women, L Hamilton aside…😬 So you’ll find that most wives and girlfriends of the drivers are successful in their own right, it’s just natural that a good looking man will want a good looking partner and vice versa. There have been plenty of cases where the girl has dropped the F1 driver simply because of logistics or it just didn’t work out. It really isn’t generally a case of gold diggers.

Nah, not having that.
They are mostly gold-diggers. There ain't many rich men married to munters in life, even in the 21st century. And if you can travel around the world on private jets for nought and be 'wined and dined' every weekend in luxury, I am sure most women would tag along, so the drivers have their pick.
I also think the potential 'danger' is exciting to some.
Verstappen's bird is Nelson Piquet's daughter, though, so she will used to the good life. God knows what she sees in that fugly twonk. Maybe it's the success that her dad never had?

When you were laying on the hospital bed stark naked thinking about F1 drivers girlfriends, was there anything about you that might have given the game away and attracting said compliments 🤭

They will all have to be 'someone' or daughters of 'someone' to ever be in the same room as the F1 boys, so not saying they are council estate slappers. Just rich slappers! :rofl:
The motor racing world is not the same as the world I live in. 99.9% of drivers were rich before they went near a car, otherwise they would never have had the opportunity cos all forms of motorsport are bloody expensive.
Good looking women tend to have good looking mothers, who were the gold-diggers of the previous generation. All in my opinion of course.
 
I thought the sprint race was very watchable. Admittedly I am a huge Hamilton fan, so if the new regs mean he is going to be back in the mix then happy days.

Yes. Very. I'm looking forward to the start tomorrow with the fezzers on the 2nd row.
 
I enjoyed the Sprint race too, and was glad to see Hammy seems to have got his mojo back.

George Russell had a close call in Qualifying so he must have been mighty relieved to get onto the front row of the grid, but those Fezzas seem to make ballistic starts so it should be entertaining tomorrow.

It wasn’t….🫣

This will sound incredibly arrogant and patronising but it’s not meant to be; from a pure visual perspective F1 is arguably better now than it has been for years, but from a proper enthusiast perspective, no arrogance intended, it’s crap now, as Alonso put it, it’s now the F1 battery championship. Going slower and braking earlier into corners to charge a battery is not flat out car and driver racing, it’s artificial.

Anyway for those that just like the spectacle you’ll enjoy it.
 
I much preferred it before DRS and hybrid power came along, but it's all we've got now so I still watch it.

Managing the battery power is just another skill the teams and drivers need to adapt to so still requires some skill to master.

I enjoyed watching the highlights, especially when Max had to retire his car. :D

I enjoyed it.
Especially as Lewis beat his team mate cos Charles made a mistake. Hamilton on the podium again.....bring it on.
And dribbler not being able to drive the car is another massive bonus.

There does need to be some catching up by the other 10 teams, though, as Mercs finishing 1 and 2 and Ferrari finishing 3 and 4 with the best of the rest being half a lap behind is not going to be fun for long.
 
True, but if McLaren had started I expect they would have been closer to the Ferraris than the rest were. It isn't like we haven't had periods of dominance before, Vettel at Red Bull, Lewis at Mercedes then Verstappen at Red Bull.

And just two races into the new regulations with a few weeks gap before the next race I suspect others may catch up. McLaren made much better use of a Mercedes power unit last season than Mercedes did!

At least the Mercedes didn't cruise into the distance, they had to pass the Ferraris first.

I don't really know what you expect, John. F1 hasn't been 'balls out racing' to showcase the best drivers for at least 20 years.
There have been changes put in place constantly to try to make it more entertaining for audiences. Some worked, some didn't.

By all accounts, the drivers have to 'do' a lot more for their millions this year than any year previously, so those that can 'do' everything the best will win (once all the teams get to grips with the new technology and make it work. Which they will).
