The leak around the bolt is from a failed cam cover gasket. Again, that would be replaced under the recall.

Thanks fellows- this makes the seep a bit more perplexing, as it did have the VANOS recall done last year, in January 2025.

Perhaps that bolt just needs a tightening....or perhaps that gasket wasn't done properly. I'll give the shop that did the work a ring and see if they did renew the gaskets as part of it.

Melbourne is a nice colour and the M-sport with the 326M wheels certainly is a pretty car.
All the ups and downs with your search have resulted in a good car by the look of it. :thumbsup:

As a sadly missed late forum member would have said "Congrat's. Most excellent" (yes the unnecessary apostrophe was part of the charm).
 
Congratulation on reaching the end of your search. Your Z4 looks fantastic in Melbourne Red. and I'm another big fan of the wonderful 3 litre N52 engine. :thumbsup:

So much so that my 330i daily has one!

That view wouldn’t have anything to do with the fact that you sold me a white Z would it? Although I do admit it doesn’t look too bad.

Is the oil actually seeping out, or has it been spilt there?

Agree Iain. I have never bought a car on colour choice. The best car, not the best colour is my priority.
