Today I took another trip across this great country to look at a Z4....but I bought it this time!
Forum member @Fullspeedahead had mentioned to me that he was considering selling his 2010 E89, so this time I hopped aboard several trains to make my way out to Ipswich to have a look. I admired the Melbourne Red on this car as he picked me up at the station, and after a good review of maintenance records over breakfast, a lovely drive through the countryside, and a solid chanceschmerr inspection to satisfy any concerns - we conducted a gentlemanly negotiation and came to an amicable agreement. I'm now the happy owner of this lovely Z4!
The drive back to Bristol was a hoot - I absolutely love this pick-up of this 3.0L engine, and in sport mode - it is dangerously fast. Let's hope I managed to catch all those lovely speed cameras along the way before they caught me!
We picked up a couple things I need to have a look at, but I'll crack on in the coming days - chief among them is a slight oil weep on one of the engine bolts. I'll try a tightening routine first but I suspect that gasket will have to come out - something new for me but I'm sure I can figure it out!
