Wire in RR Wing

The KWV3 spring and strut is shorter than stock.
Ah well if you do insist on abusing BMWs design criteria…

Never a clever idea to drop the car do much on a road based car

I’m on KWV3’s with no issues on stock 19’s Marcoose. Now on OEM M4 437’s still no issues, or with 3 or 5mm spacers purely for vanity.

They’re set at approximately stock M sport ride height, if anything a mm or 2 lower but pretty much stock height. Are the rear tyres wearing more on the inside edge..? 🧐

Just shows, got to be careful lowering kits, etc.
The aftermarket suspension wasn’t intended to lower the ride height. But that’s how it sat after install. It’s a massive improvement to the OE suspension, though.

Now that I know this problem, I’ll find a solution. Unlike the island lot, continental engineers are renowned for their skills and ingenuity.
:poke:

10mm spacer with longer bolts will definitely work..maybe 5mm

Interesting. Good to know.

The old indie that installed the KWV3 for me was competent, but not a suspension specialist. Perhaps something is off or wrong.

Yes, the rears wear more on the inside. But have stock -2.0° camber.

There’s not really anything to get wrong, shocks fit where they fit or not at all, same with the springs.

Do you have any pics of the car sitting on the ground as normal so we can see the ride height..?

Here it is. It’s lower than stock, but not much. I remember notes with Peter back when, and he chose Bilstein (vs KW) because it lowered even less.

In addition to a 5mm spacer, perhaps deforming the liner panel, if there’s room behind it.

(Disregard the bodywork damage. I got hit. Which prompted the wing repair, the removal of the wheel, the discovery of the aforementioned wire, and the tyre rubbing inside the wing.)

Has the hit pushed and bulged the liner towards the wheel?
What's left side like, might be left is closer to body as it hasn't got the wiring pushing it out.

It was a very light sideswipe that caused cosmetic damage from bumper to bumper. The alignment after the sideswipe was within parameters.
