M style 224 wheels on non-M E85?

I've seen 224s fitted to quite a few non-Ms and they seem to work OK, subject to the suspension not being radically modified.

Sticking to non-M tyre sizes may help as they are a profile lower at each end then on Ms.

Yup, 224's work just fine as Mr Tidy has stated, as long as they're fitted with tyres that are a profile lower than standard M's.

Here's my old e85 with Bilstein + Eibach suspension paired with 225/40, 255/35 tyres with 10mm spacers on the front, and i had no issues.

@ARCS

Thanks for the details. The tire sizes you listed (on your old e85) are precisely what's on my car now (107 style staggered, with OEM Sport suspension). I assume you had to do the spacer up front because of the different offset of the 224 front wheel?

You don't actually need a spacer on the front as 224s are 8J x 18 ET42 and the 108, MW2, etc fronts are 8J x 18 ET47 so 224s will sit 5mm further out anyway.

Astheticly, it needed a 10mm spacer imo, but not necessarily required.
