Believe i got my airbag coded with a new issue showing up
Managed to stumble my way threw the guide posted in my other post on replacing an airbag module I believe i got it working for the most part however I have a new issue present.
Inpa is producing the error 93AC ive back tracked it to my vin not matching and for whatever reason ncs providing a dummy vin in place. Ive been at this for hours, anyone have any info? TIA

Did you code your vin to the new module?

Soo here's the issue with that and how I figured out it was a dummy vin. The one that auto populated was "WBAAA00000LS201153" very similar to mine which "WBABT32050LS20115" so my first thought was any digit before "L" and after "5" where just place holders. However tried going through that route and wont work. unfortunately won't allow me to change anything in that direction. Tried manually adding my vin. That also threw an error in ncs. What ive come up to is ive either done something wrong or my module won't accept changes and is locked/bricked. I'm just not knowledgeable on this stuff to know where or if I went wrong with it.

Yeah that’s not right
There is a step in ncs where you code your chassis vin to the new module

Any way you'd be willing to jump on a screen share with me and guide me? I thought for sure I had followed that process correctly. Issue im running into is a lot of my programs have different inputs. So ive had to kinda rely on chatgpt interpretation and old forum posts ive dug up from 10-20 years ago.
For refrence all the tools im using either came with my d+kcan cable or i downloaded off easy mikes bmw tools.

Hey so I followed that guide correctly I believe. After clearing i have now 4 codes in inpabigwinn wrote: Sun Jun 29, 2025 10:02 pm I’ll send you my step by step guide that may help

93E4
93AC error count 2 (this one was there before with only 1)
93E6
2 are seatbelt codes which I don't get where they came from because I never touched them and the other is still the same issue of non-start of system time. (Going purely off chatgpt translate) Ediabas started the time correctly. What am I doing wrong?

93E4 is related to the key switch to disable the passenger airbag
93e6 also relates to the same- but saying the warning light is circuit open
Is the unit you have coded compatible with the defective one? You checked the list against your original unit?

Is it a duff module? I always fit the new one and check the codes in it before I start. Should just have one for wrong VIN. Only once that is coded will it then give you a system time error.
So if you have any other codes than that before you start then it could be a bad module.
Once coded you will find it triggers time out codes on the other modules which can easily be cleared.
If you've done everything exactly as the instructions say then time to consider the viability of that module

When I installed it all i had for codes showing up was incorrect vin. It's vary likely a bad module as it was purchased off ebay in Japan, seller was vary keen on explaining that there was no returns. Unfortunately it was definitely a gamble but the only one matching anything related to what would work for my car.enuff_zed wrote: Mon Jun 30, 2025 6:10 pm Is it a duff module? So is the consensus the replacement module is faulty as well?

If the only code you had was incorrect vin then it is likely it is ok. However, it is hard to tell exactly what has happened in the coding process?Blacksquid wrote: Mon Jun 30, 2025 6:29 pm So is the consensus the replacement module is faulty as well?
