I did both of mine myself, plenty of help on here and the internet, takes a while and is a bit fiddly but doable as diy. And a lot cheaper. Or if you are near Norfolk there’s a man with the skill to do it for you

Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

Not just me though. People dotted all over the country who can do it, or assist you in doing it.MikeyH wrote: Sat Jun 28, 2025 9:51 am I did both of mine myself, plenty of help on here and the internet, takes a while and is a bit fiddly but doable as diy. Mine gave up a few weeks ago so I sourced one locally from a breaker and fitted it myself, it was very fiddly to get the old one out and the new one in and lined up but I got there in the end. The membrane was ok and not ripped at all and sealed back very well.

Part was £180 and it was £240 labour.eddietiv1 wrote: Sat Jun 28, 2025 9:01 am How much did they finally charge Tango22 as I'm going to need mine doing shortly.
I'd have struggled to do it myself due to health reasons, so whilst it's obviously much less expensive going DIY, its not a viable option for me.

Whilst it wouldn’t work for you, just for anyone else looking into this, a secondhand unit would be half that and personally I would do the work for a darn sight less as well.
