Have we just taken possession of the last Z4’s

As if by magic, today my car has been handed over to distribution. I can see a light at the end of this tunnel!
So what does that mean? Is it in the UK or just left the factory?

Edit, no further update for mine, that’s a week in final inspection, I’m betting you’ll get yours before mine at this point

Nope. It’s still at the factory, but it’s now been released to distribution so should be making its way over to transit soon.
It’s scheduled to arrive week commencing 8th nov.
Yours still scheduled for 1st? Always ask for what build code it’s at as it gives a little more information. Mine is code 160 right now.

I still think we will both get ours within a day or 2 of each other.

Exciting times for you both

Anxious and horrid more like it. I know it’s true first world problems, but the delays are horrible.

Code 182 today which is released to carrier. So certainly moving up. Just waiting for it to actually leave the factory and arrive in U.K. port.

Well damn and blast, my car has been sat in final inspection for ten days code 155. Was informed this afternoon that it’s either waiting for a part or there is a technical campaign on it, ergo something doesn’t work, either way I have no revised delivery date, I just have to wait. Going to order a Tesla model 3 tomorrow 😂 at least I won’t have to worry about oil pricing 😀

Are you sure isn't a 'code red'? :D :D
When (and if) you eventually get to fetch it from Boston, I am expecting you to come round to mine for a cup of char (10 mins down the road).

[ref]Pondrew[/ref], oh I can see that as a favourable plan, can you make toast too or is that too cheeky :D

Interesting reading - from being at the dealer in Aug, Ive been told to not expect delivery til late March. Not that I’m chomping at the bit, it’ll come when it comes!

Oh no! That’s the worst news!
No revised delivery date? What does that even mean? Surely you can ask for more information?

Mine is still released to carrier. Hasn’t shipped yet, but delivery is still scheduled for 2nd week in November.

[ref]ori[/ref], the email stated below and mines supposedly car 1

For car 1, unfortunately this looks like it has been held up due to the parts shortage on the semi-conductors. We haven’t been given an ETA I’m afraid but sold orders will be prioritised and progressed ASAP.

With regards to car 2, this one looks like it has a technical campaign on it. So until this is lifted the car cannot be delivered I’m afraid.

So no idea, use was back a week due to shortages, what I’m thinking is that either there was a faulty part that required a replacement or they continued the car through production whilst the part came in, either was I’m waiting for parts.

Certainly don’t like the sound of on a technical campaign, that sounds like trying to find a fault and that would worry me with am I getting a lemon

Still code 155 today

[ref]sars[/ref],

So yours is held up because of production parts shortage yet has a code of 155 which is production complete?
This sounds wrong. I wouldn’t be happy.

Oh she’s not, I’m surprised that you can’t tell :P

[ref]sars[/ref], the positives are they’re making sure it’s sorted before you get it and you might save a months tax on it

did you order your non ICE vehicle yet? :poke:

Yeah. I can tell she isn’t happy, but what can she actually do? It’s a worldwide problem and it’s better they actually build the car that she ordered then deliver a car with options missing.

Sounds like her car isn’t faulty, but just missing parts.

Fingers crossed it happens shortly, but I suspect a month delay is very likely. :(

[ref]Argyll Andy[/ref], [ref]ori[/ref],
I’m not angry, these things happen, just frustrated with the waiting, fed up with not having a car and no it would have to be an either or for the Tesla

and ori, thanks for the encouragement with a months delay, that makes me feel much better :headbang: :D

 I was trying to put a positive spin on it, honest

Did you get any further information about the issue. I was wondering if it could be something as simple a a puncture, nick on an alloy missing trim part/cover etc?

I understand your frustration, being without a car for that additional time would drive me mad too :headbang:

This is the scenario that worries me and there is nothing we can do about it.

I suspect a semi conductor shortage?

I was about to come off the fence and advertise my car - but I would rather live with the car I have than not having a car to drive in the spring of 2022.

Sorry SARS, I really am worried about your car. Feel we have been through this together with delays and I’m gutted for you.

As Andy has said, it could be a stupid small trim part for all we know. I would be asking for more information and also let’s hope that tomorrow is a new day and it may move up to being complete? I’m sure they don’t want half built cars clogging up production.

It looks like they plan to keep the zed around for a couple of more years yet, hopefully!
