If there was an idiots guide to doing it, I’d be biting your hand off along with half the e86/86 members…

I think most people would be reluctant to buy considering you can get this kit for 410 on aliexpress, and 378 on their upcoming sale.
and the carlinkit for 50 quid.

Would have to be a lot lot cheaper for me to consider. I would imagine with most people the first thing theyd do is google the parts

Fair enough, i hadnt actually checked the current prices since i bought it, so in light of that £400 all in. And BTW if you do buy from Ali you also have to pay VAT and import duties, so even in the sale, it would still cost you nearer £450, + the carlink + the OEM headunit + ODB dongle. So is £400 inc delivery cheap enough?

Have to say, I agree with @Worcester_spoon and @lewis_jennings. I was in the market for something, so I did look into your initial posting quite carefully. I wasn't put off by the price of buying similar kit from a local hifi retailer (equivalent brand new hardware installed for £500 inc. VAT), but from a forum buyer's perspective: used kit, no warranty, self-install and Japanese YouTube videos...? Even at £400, for me I had to rule it out as 'too risky'. Hope you do recoup some of your investment though And in the unlikely event you decide you just want shot of it today, at half that price, PM me. I mean no disrespect by proposing what you might feel is an unreasonable valuation, and having just been told my 2014 kit I paid £1200 for at the time, is outdated and might get me £150 on eBay, I sympathise with your conundrum! Best of luck selling it

PS - I already have the OEM Business CD player, so you could try offloading that separately?
