1.- Any pros and cons with the screen and the Android system ??

2.- I see I will need to have always connected the Screen to the Aux output of the car ???, because is where the souns is transmited, right ? if yes where do u pass the aux cable to dont see it in the front of all my dash hehe.

3.- How is the sound quality ?

4.- Could you upgrade it to Android 10 ?

5.- The camera u installed do I need to wire it all the way to the front ?, if yes, is difficult? any wireless camera I could use ?

6.- Finally hehe the screen/system is plug and play or I will need to modify something in the car ? of course the big cut but only that ?

Thank you so much in advance, I will be waiting your answer to make my desicion. :D

Hi all,

Sorry for resurrecting a old thread, but what happened? Did anyone get this fitted into a E85 OK?
If you have a CD-changer and Nav drive already can you remove them? I really would like more cabin storage.

Currently overhauling the interior in my Z4M and have decided to rip out the OEM Sat Nav and screen (available if anyone wants to make me an offer - fully working), and go with an updated modular Pioneer system. Will upload pictures when it's all done, but will be a few weeks yet.

Very interested to see what you do, I'd like to do something similar.

Should have pictures within a week or so.

A bit later than promised, but a very quick sneak peek of the new dash and navigation setup, using a Pioneer modular system. Lots of features, including the usual Android Auto and CarPlay connectivity, DAB, reverse camera hookup, Alexa integration and all sorts. Will post more pictures in their own thread once the interior is finalised as still a couple of last things to do before it's finished.

What did you do to cover the hole that was left behind? Just install an entirely new dashboard?

Would that be part number 3402391?

It looks about right but I'm wondering if it will fit properly. Can't find anyone on the internet that tried it before and it will be a bit tricky to get since I only see it for sale outside my own country.

I fitted one, years ago now... they need to be trimmed at the front. They are not an exact fit as the X3 has more of alip on the front edge. I made it look pretty neat / OE

Basically filled/smoothed with fibreglass/filler, before trimming over.

Hi mate, do you have the screen and stereo? Want to have a go at making an OEM look android unit

I have installed an android 10.25 Krando PX6 9.0 4+64G which was for BMW Z4 mod 2006 without screen with origin radio and cd player. You must cut dash but that is not very difficult. The screen has good fitment but takes a bit of the view. You get no help from the dealer, but it is easy to connect. There are some parts that does not work. It will not connect to idrive knob. It will not connect to car spesific (like speed, rpm and so)It will not connect to obd dongle. For the rest everything works very well. Navigation, movies, steering wheel knobs, back up camera, music streaming and so. It is possible that I can have done something wrong in the set up but there are nobody to answer such question. I will reckomand another unit. Krando say it is for Z4 E85 without screen. But in the setup meny this car isnot to find

Please please please remember that these screens are design for cars with CAN system, the Z4 E85/86 doesn't have CAN but I & K bus. Thus you lose many functions.

Yes, the unit is modular, but comes with both the screen, and the main unit which contains the amps, GPS, DAB unit etc.

Hi! Nice setup!
Can you make a photo from the back of the display? How did you fit it? And how did you hide all those wires?
Thank you

I just installed one in my 03. You have to do some trimming and filing to make the profile fit the Z4 dash contour but if you take your time you can get it to fit nice.
