What have you done to your car today?

Vanos accumulator is back in now as well

Ah yes, I did notice that after I posted.

You’ll probably be ok if the 8.8 bolts they took out looked ok, but if you only want to “do the work once” then replace them with 10.9s and consider locking washers.

Several daily-driven cars on this forum have had bolts back out (mine included). Bing even had a mount fail and his engine drop down onto the ARB. There was a SIB about it and many think there should have been a recall: https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=290053&d=1314055257

Oil lines in now for remote oil pressure relief valve have ordered a mechanical oil pressure gauge so next weekend I can put the oil pipe in for the gauge re fill fluids, change 2 tappet shims, re fit the air box, get the ARB powder coated the auxiliary drive belts are back on, maybe the alloy under tray may leave this off until the engine has run just in case there is a leak form something.

I swapped out my Bridgestone Potenza S001s at the end of their life (1.9mm) for some fresh Michelin Pilot Sport 4. Has completely changed the dynamic of the car, the dry and wet grip is unreal!

Amen to that  It was like getting the car I dreamed I bought vs the RFs. Congrats on the improvement

I drove 120 miles of twisty back roads for fun - then fueled and washed my baby :)

ahah nice, I bought mine with PS4 front and Potenza S001 rear, so thankfully never experienced it with runflats. Soooo much better now, handles like it's on rails! :D

Fitted a pair of replacement boot struts, noticed that the originals were getting sloppy, sourced a pair from ebay Hong Kong seller for £7.49 a pair. Ordered late December arrived today so a bit of a wait. The struts are exactly the same as the oem ones, can see no difference, ball ends and their spring clips are exactly the same. 10 mins to take the old ones off and fit the replacements. Restored the boot lid to a dampened open and closing function.
Bargain at that price, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2pcs-296mm-Black-Tailgate-Boot-Gas-Struts-For-BMW-Z4-E85-Convertible/312887777234?hash=item48d99097d2:g:Ky4AAOSwPwpd8zLI

Well gave the old gal a clean

Love the lift and the wrenches stuck on the wall. I'm a big fan of easy access...
The wife knows it.

Sheared off 2 of the 3 top mount threads :headbang: new top mount and nuts ordered, just need to mess around getting the shock off now :headbang:

All this because I wanted to remove my fancy strut brace and put it up for sale. Why did I bother?

I was considering doing the same. Maybe I should think again in case the same fate awaits me! :o

Finally got around to getting my front tyres replaced. I've had them in my shed since last March

I also have the rear tyres ready to go on, but the current ones still have 2mm-2.5mm tread, so I can get a few more miles out of those :P

Also fitted a new top mount on the n/s, after snapping 2 threads on the old one. When I say old, it had only been in for a few thousand miles, as I replaced them last year :headbang:
