Adamski, so the coupe/roadster debate is finally over? does this mean you accept the coupe to be the better looking car?

best wax for black car?
& the evergreen "will these wheels fit my car? " :D

This is a good point but for those new members who are seeking guidance I feel we as a forum need to cut them some slack in their questions- yes after years we know the answers (or lack of definitive one) to these but if I bought a new car I would hope the forum related to it would be helpful despite my relative naivety. Thats what makes this place so great, and at the end of the day if we don't want to read threads about old topics we don't have to open them. JMHO, not trying to upset anyone.

Neighbours cat sleeping on the roof
Bluetooth won't connect
Why do I have 8 speakers when there should be 6 or 10?

paddy wright, paddy i totally agree, we all need to learn and if newbies ask done to death quiestions it doesn't really matter

I know where your coming from but alot of these questions are from newbies and we where all one of them once and probably asked the same dumb qeustions . To be fair most things z4 have been asked debated ,agreed not agreed etc on here to death ,iam on here most days and sometimes struggle to find something new and exciting to read about. My main concern is recently it seams to have turned into more of a facebook or twitter . Some of the things posted up make me think ive logged on to the wrong site  You can get some one trying to do a new mod be it good or bad and maybe get 10 posts than get someone asking what colour there should paint there front door and get 12 pages worth of posts . And of course every one knows that the roadster will always be king Taz but thats a discussion for another thread :D

I don't think there is a better option between the two solutions.
The "unique topic" way is great IF the first post is very well maintained, with up to date info, links, quotes, and so on. But this is unlikely most of the time. The real useful information is buried on page 27 out of 42 and it's hard to get there.
Newbies asking the same question over and over can be annoying for regular members who have already answered the question a dozen times. So newbies should at least read some topics, just like this one, and try to use the search option first.

Agree with Paddy, eventually by a process of elimination all subjects will have been covered, I didn't join the forum to look at an index to my question, I joined it to get to know like minded people and have a craic with, as a newbie I found many a helping hand and polite direction to my stupid frequently asked questions, this is the first and only forum that I've ever been on, as a result feel that I know many of you personally and I have got to this by having help, guidance and being cut some slack in my early posts which gave me the confidence to do further posts.

but the search option is often er - rubbish

Shooter, do you want to buy a Z4 sticker hehe - not yet done to death thread

Quiet day at work Adamski ? SL not working you hard enough ? Good points though but newbies do need to be allowed some slack. Like most of us I've not always found the search function quite so user friendly - maybe I just need to RTFM a bit more - that's the Forum manual - sadly I have actually read the Z manual numerous times - go on test me - NO, NO please don't !

Adamski i think a feq asked quetions thread link would be a great help to newbies and also some of us older members. Than if people are not to sure there could ask the question in referance to a certain thread .
" I looked at the thread about sticky stearing etc but i dont quiet understand can some one help?" I think you may be on to something there Adamski

Posts I've never seen on here! - yet!

'How do I remove the rear seats from my roadster?'

'how does the sunroof work on my coupe?'

'I admit the roadster is better looking than the coupe' By Taz X :D

as a relative newbie of under 4 weeks i myself have posted on the mirror issue & thought the OP was in jest
i,m also guilty of not maybe searching before posting
its amusing that this is the 4th car specific forum i have (still am) participated in & the other 3 vehicles all have their own topics that are forever being asked by newbies :)
i think its good to help those just getting to know a car for the first time & repetitive questions don,t fuss me .
unless its the ragtop/coupe debate which is totally pointless as we all know the coupe is where we all end up :D
happy zedding
