ZHP Gear Knob - NO LONGER WANTED

Finding it really hard to source one new for under £80 delivered, so thought I'd post a wanted on here.

Willing to accept a bit of wear, but not much. As a rough guide of what I'd pay...

£30 for a bit of wear
£40 for hardly any wear (for example see Marlon's here... https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=106792
£50 for one that basically looks new.
£60 for one that is new.

Obviously would then pay postage on top - unless anyone's in Hampshire, or going to Beaulieu next month?

You've lost me! The post for the one that's already sold? Would've paid £40 considering it was a genuine 6 Speed - so Chris did well to beat me!

Brand new one on ebay currently at £56 but with plenty of time left on the auction, so not getting my hopes up on that.
 
Have you tried calling a dealer? HF bmw quoted £51.60 inc vat and delivery back in february this year.

Thanks Tom, you may be on to something. A month ago I phoned my three most local dealers and none had any stock, so I assumed no dealers were stocking them anymore. However, just found the official online bmw shop... www.shop.bmw.co.uk and can get it there for £64.50 which includes delivery (as it's over £50).

There's a dealer 15 mins walk from my office so going to take a walk in my lunch hour tomorrow and see if they might have it in stock and whether they can do it any cheaper. You don't get if you don't ask!

Failing all else, and assuming no one on here has one for sale, then I'll probably pay the £64.50.

I think that sopers offer discount to forum members, they were charging around £55 I heard? :?

I got mine from Cotswold BMW last June for £57 delivered so they may be worth a try.
 
Dealers don’t stock anything these days, but can normally get next day, so delivered to you in a couple. Soper are good and their prices include postage.
 
There's a problem with the manufacturer of these, so they are on permanent hold. No dealer in the country apparently has any stock of these at the moment.
 
I'll take a trip to the local dealer at lunch, if I have no luck there I'll give Sopers and Cotswold a try.

Keen to know how you get on. I'll be wanting one of these too.
 
Soper’s also give a discount to forum members, I didn’t even have to ask when I bought mine.
 
Update!

Consistent story from both dealers I spoke to. Hasn’t been any stock (BMW as a whole) for months due to an issue with supplier. New stock is expected in Germany on 11th June. Neither could guarantee that this fresh stock would be sufficient to fulfil any existing backorder. I would have to order and hope that mine would come out of this first batch or the supplier had got their act together and mine would follow quickly after in the following batch(es).

Went to my local dealer first and they quoted £66.50. After a LOT of prodding he finally brought it down to £61.25. To be honest if the guy hadn’t made me work so hard to get the price down, I would have ordered there and then. But sod him, I walked.

Phoned Sopers and without even having to say anything more than “Z4 forum” they quoted £66.50 and discounted down to £59.86. Delivered. Happy enough not to be bothered phoning anyone else, I placed my order and now keeping my fingers crossed it comes quickly! :driving:

Am I correct in thinking the ZHP gear knobs on eBay that come from Bulgaria aren't the real deal :rofl:

Yes, delivered to my home :thumbsup:

Saw those Bulgarian/Hungarian/Latvian/Lithuanian (seemingly any country ending in "ian"!) ones on ebay. I assume not genuine and simply not willing to punt £40 that it might be up to the same spec! :roll:
