Looking to make the popular change from the standard 6 speed knob in a Z4C to the ZHP jobby.

The install....is it just a case of pulling and twisting until it flies off and you split your head open and/or smash it off your roof or is there a more technical menthod of getting it of/putting it back on?

Any pictures of one installed would be appreciated?

Also I have found this link to purchase one from...is this a cheap price?

Cheers

Put it in 2nd gear, bend down and grasp the knob tightly to your chest then pull. Back muscles are stronger than arm, plus it keeps it away from your face.

Don't twist - there is a slot that engages the underside of the shift knob. Just pull straight up. :driving:

here are my pics I put up when i put mine in a few years ago.

if you look at the speaker from the side in the pics you get an idea how much shorter it is.

Remember that it can come off suddenly - keep important things like your teeth, well out of the way. I found removal was easy by using the roof down and stand / squat on the seat squabs method and pull - Keep your dangling bits away from the trajectory!

You will be surprised how hard you have to push the new one on before it clicks into place.

I'll agree with that! Push hard and there is a noticeable feel that its docked properly!
