ZHP Gear Knob Fitted

Hi guys

I want to thank you for suggesting I change my gear knob from standard to ZHP M Sport leather 6 speed. I didn't really think it would make that much difference but today I fitted one and it just feels amazing. The knob is shorter and heavier as its weighted and looks a lot better which was my initial reason for buying. Gear changing feels a lot better especially that 1st to 2nd gear which feels heavier on mine (I don't know if they all feel like that)

Can someone explain what removing the clutch delay valve does to the feel of driving the car? as that is what I'm thinking of doing next.

Thanks all

Hi, good mod isn't it :P Its a mans car (no hairdressers) so first>second is designed to be a bit of a task :D
As for the cdv, ive not removed mine but I understand it gives a more direct/immediate action to the clutch operation as opposed to wading through thick porridge :?

Have you got the BMW part number for this? I don't know where you got yours but, I've seen on flea bay , ocean BMW are selling some for £56.98.
I don't know if these are the same ones??

I put one of these on mine and the gear change feels so much nicer, nice and stiff between first and second like you say but it makes it feel like a drivers car.
I did the clutch mod also and I now have less of a jerky first to second changes :driving:

I called them this morning and they said it's not compatible with z4 coupe. ! I presume they say this because it's not the one it left the factory with and it does in fact fit fine?

The BMW part number previously quoted 25117896031 was for the 5 speed if you have 6 speed manual its 25117896886

Great mod. I've had the CDV delete and would recommend it. It smooths out 1st & 2nd gear changes - you get a more direct feel and improves standing start aceleration

Thanks Marlon, looks quite an easy mod so I think this will be next on my list.
