ZHP alternative

There’s a high demand for ZHP knobs at the moment and most dealers seems to be out of stock.

For those wanting one for the meantime here’s a link to a Chinese copy of the zhp - I believe it’s the same ones that are on eBay being sold from Lithuania.

No idea on weight/quality/if it will actually fit, but for £7 worth a shot!

I went for Storm Motorwerks instead. Got the handbrake handle to go with it also.

Thats a bargain! Even if the weight isn't quite right it so long as it fits properly the shorter length should make it a decent upgrade on the stock shifter

Actually just read the feedback reviews looks like they are really well received by the buyers... Wish I'd seen these when I had my manual

I can see the tri-colour logo, but the M seems to be missing in the photos.

Look at the feedback photos its there on the items they deliver

They edit it out of the catalogue photos as its not an official item

I too have done this but for £7 you can't really go wrong!

Nice, did you wrap the dash trim yourself? Planning to do mine this week

Yep did it all meself :) If you need any advice on removal or anything just let me know, will be happy to help.

Cheers, tug

Damn wish I saw this before.

I ordered a similar one on Ebay with the stripes instead of the M logo - it was decent quality except the bottom part was really gross chromed plastic. It was so ugly I couldnt bring myself to use it. Now it's destined for some sort of future frankenstein project....

This one looks really legit in the review pics!

I’ve ordered one for myself, give it 20-40 days and I’ll post up some pics!

Please do. I’m interested to see what these are like as after ringing round a few dealers yesterday there is no chance of getting an original for ages. They don’t even have a delivery date on BMW’s part site. Guy suggested ringing back in 3 months

Luckily I bought a ZHP last year when you could still get them!

But I've just ordered a leather gear-knob for my E91 from aliexpress, so will see what it's like! For $11.28 it's worht a punt! :)

As a caution for others, don't be like me and instead, make sure wherever you're buying these reps from there are CUSTOMER photos.

I bought mine on Ebay and the listing photos showed a nice knob (particularly the bottom piece). Matte, silver, sweet!

This is what I got:

The mirror instead of matte-ish surface isn't a deal breaker but just the quality of it looks horrendous (i don't think the photos do it "justice"). Can obviously spray it etc but I paid a few dollars more than that Aliexpress listing so... :headbang:

I bought this one from eBay in Bulgaria, but it's fake - probs the same as the AliExpress one.

Not the right weight and is quite "hard" on the hand, but the reduced height does change the shift feeling.

A week later it has arrived. Expected it to be another week or so as it was coming from China. First impressions are it looks like the pictures, a few of the numbers are a tiny bit different in design but as they are so small it really doesn’t matter IMO.

... pics to follow later
