ZFest 2013 - Labor Day Weekend

There are three “car events” scheduled at this year’s ZFest for all attendees to enjoy. The three events that you can sign up for are the Autocross, Funkhana, and Concours:
Autocross - An autocross is a timed competition in which drivers navigate one at a time through a cone-defined course, usually in a large parking lot. Autocross is NOT racing in that there is only one car on the course at a time, and you race against the clock rather than other cars. Autocross courses are typically fairly short, taking less than two minutes to run, and place demands on car handling and driver skill rather than on engine power and speed. At ZFest the autocross competition is meant to be both challenging and fun – a great way to safely put your Z (and the driver!) through their paces.
Funkhana - Funkhanas are low-speed, light-hearted competitions that are a test of dexterity and patience. Each team, composed of a driver and passenger, must complete tasks that involve car handling, teamwork and especially a sense of humor. There are usually no “official” rules, other than the events being fun, low-speed, safe and not hard at all on the cars. Funkhana challenges range from sophisticated to silly. You might be squeezing into a tight parking spot, balancing on a huge teeter-totter, playing ring toss with a fan belt, or even going fishing from your car! Teams are graded by a combination of time, accuracy, and points. By including an element of luck, everyone has a good chance of winning. . . or screwing up. Bring your Z, bring you co-pilot, and enjoy an afternoon of fun and laughter!
Concours – Also called a Concours d'Elegance, this is the event for your car to shine, literally! Every aspect of the car – interior, exterior, under the hood – is judged. The judges are looking for nothing less than perfection in cleanliness and lack of dents, scratches, nicks or other damage, inside and out. They will be looking to see if your carpets are spotless, your wheels are dust free, and if your engine could double as a kitchen table! At ZFest, cars will be judged in classes for Z3s, Z4s, and Z8s, as well as competing for the coveted “Best in Show” overall trophy.
