Zed No.3 - Z4R 3.0si

After selling the Coupe and Roadster to get just one car for the both of us, I bought this 3.0si with 106k miles. I've always said if I was going to wrap a car it would be Nardo Grey. This came in Pearl Grey which is one-off Nardo on the chart. I knew when I bought it that it needed some work, some bits though I wasn't expecting!! The car looked like it was a project that hadn't been quite finished, and with the brief from the Mrs of 'make it look and sound mean' I figured I could work with what I was buying.

It came with full wrap including wing mirrors and lower section of bumper in black, straight through exhaust and Maxton front splitter. The water pump and clutch / flywheel were also done which is a large cost I didn't have to worry about. Here it is the day I bought it:

I've had the car 6 weeks now and have done the following to bring it up to my standard. Some of the mods I wouldn't normally do as I'm more of a purist, but this is a fun car for the both of us so I figured why not:

Brake pads (front and back)
Brake discs (front and back)
Remap - just to get some of the horses back lost over the years
Drivers seatbelt
New dampers (front and back)
Rear springs
Battery
Ignition barrel
Gearbox and diff oil
Cam cover, gaskets and bolts
New rear wing - missed it when I was buying it as it was tipping it down, but the rear wing had been wrapped despite having a major rust issue. See pic below for how bad it was. Really poor of the company that did the wrap as you're not supposed to wrap rusted panels!!
Aero wiper blades
OEM bonnet badge
OEM boot badge
Royals wheel
Wrapped interior pieces carbon black
Rewrapped front right wing
Maxton side skirts
Maxton rear spoiler
LED interior lights
LED number plate lights
Refurbed both seats
Gloss black grilles
Wrapped side reflectors
Wrapped fog lights
Swap alloys and had them powder coated in 'dark copper' - took a bit of a punt with this, but I think it came out really well
Hoops sprayed black (not my best work so these will need redoing)
BMW performance 6-speed shifter
New OEM hand brake handle
Headlight refurb
Replace petrol fuel cap cord
New pollen filter
Replaced cupholders with some eBay specials
2 x new rear tyres (Conti Sport 5)
K&N air filter

I've also given it a full 3-day detail that included a full polish (didn't know you could polish wrap until recently) and numerous protection elements.

I've still got the following to do:

Raise exhaust 10cm - as you can see in the pics, it's a bit low, booked this in for next week.
Replace steering wheel cowl - mine is badly peeling
Retrofit cruise control
Oil change, booked in for next week
Fix steering wheel controls - the car came without them, but I got hold of some hoping they were plug and play....turns out not!!!!!

Here is the rust on the rear wing!!!

As I've managed to get the car to a good standard in time for ZedFest, it would be rude not to go this weekend. If anyone from North Wales wants to meet for the drive over, let me know!

Love it !

Thanks for all the good comments.

Tried something a bit different this time and glad it's worked out. Time to get out and :driving:

Love the colour
Love the dash

Nice motor!

I guess we will all need to start to check for rust soon!

That looks really great.

3.0Si Roadsters are pretty rare too so finding one with M-Sport seats and Xenons is a bonus!
