Zed is Dead :( - Hope i can still make Zedfest!!

Driving home from work along the duel carriage way last night and the car just dies! i pull over in lay-by and as i have no breakdown cover i call my mate who has a garage (lesson learnt, i already have cover now as did it last night lol) anyway he turns up and has a quick look.... the belt had frayed slightly and the piece that was frayed had caught some wires (the bottom left corner as u look at the aux belt from the front) but he had left his solder iron at the work shop so he tried using some electrical tape but no luck! checked and replaced a couple of blown fuses, again no luck! so we straight bar towed it 12-15 miles back to his workshop (never been towed like this before, it was horrible!!!) currently left at workshop and he will try sort it today when/if he gets a chance so Zedfest is in jeopardy :headbang:

was supposed to be fixing lots of little things ready for Zedfest aswell like a all over detail, leather clean and restore, fix stud conversion, lots and lots of the "little" jobs but at this rate ill be lucky to give it a clean and drive straight there :headbang:

gutted is an understatement :(
 
Straight bar towing is better than using a rope, but I've experienced it and it's not pleasant :lol:

wires soldered, still didn't work, diagnostic found it had tripped the immobilizer, full reset and turned over 1st time :fuelfire:

trouble is im busy at work so cant leave early, then have a meal tonight.... so i only have tomorrow and im playing football so i literally only have time to wash it :thumbsdown:

im worried people are going to pick holes in all the niggley bits i wanted to put right (front bumper brackets are broken, ive had the replacements for agggesss just not got around to fit them, somebody reversed into me so rear bumper needs respraying.. luckily the spray shop had already agreed to respray for free as some paint flaked around rear wheel arch from stone chips, plus lots of various other bits)

either way..... im sure ill enjoy Sunday anyway...... shame no other white E85s are going :(

Hi Jingle, nobody's going to pick holes in your motor-we are a friendly lot on here :P
Plus, they will be to busy picking holes in mine to notice yours :rofl:

Great news to have the car back! No one will pick fault- we all have blemishes and projects to do, no one ever knows these issues exist- just us! :thumbsup:

I wouldn't worry about that mate. Mine is a true 10 foot car. Lots of things need tidying up and finishing off on mine. Lets park ours next to each other in a far off corner. Then all we need is a red one and we have a flag!! :thumbsup:
