Manufacturers size brakes very carefully and tailor the components to the weight/balance of the car and too much 'brake' can be just as dangerous as too little
With identical rotors and calipers all round, he may need to have a proportioning valve installed to reduce the rear breaking force or the rears will lock up far too easily - not many people with a 2l Z4 will have done this so just how much the rear brake force needs to be reduced may end up being a trial-and-error process and could end up being rather expensive

Jonny essex said:Sprint chip does not produce further BHP but deliveries what power you have via a more responsive and aggressive gear change and the re-map gives the extra BHP on top, but before a RPI air scoop, K&N air filter, quad exhaust and a service has been now done to help achieve a higher BHP increase as possible, by my calculations a further 20-25bhp is possible but i will know in 4 weeks.

Not possible with a manual car Jonny, only you can make the gear change more responsive/aggressive.
I finance by giving up EVERYTHING in terms of money spent, no goin out, no new clothes, no cinema, no meals out, etc etc...its very hard and unless you can cope with stress and your very organised, many many hours sourcing parts and getting info and 100% focus driven many would fail to do what i will in 14 months ( excluding sports seats as no idea when i can get hold of them )
Jonny essex said:Ive done other secret squiral things too  i would loose yes but not thrashed from a 3L i hope lol, im gonna race one next meet if someones up for it. :lol:chrisba said:I beg to differ buddy.
Standard 2.0 - 150bhp & 7.9 seconds to 60
Standard 3.0 - 231bhp & 5.7 seconds to 60
With all the will in the world you're not going to make up a 35% power difference with an air scoop, remap and exhaust.

My mate has sprint boaster kit on his m3, he keeps on at me to get one. They replace a switch behind the accelerator pedal, yeah. Then has a 3 step switch to manually adjust settings. He swears by it.

Agree totally - if you're really serious about doing this, don't waste your money on interim measures, think of your ultimate goal and focus on that....Adamski said:...if you're going down the 3.0i or V8 route with the engine next year, won't the K&N filter, remap and exhaust all be a waste of time?
