Mine was hit whilst I was on holiday so I feel your pain, unlike yours though the driver vanished and never owned up. Apparently it was about £1800 of damage, this only back in July :(
Hopefully they'll do a good job on yours!!
Yeah, that's a lot worse i think. Terrible thing to come back from holiday to. Hope you managed to get it sorted and back on the road!
Yeah that was a crap phone call to take whilst on holiday. All sorted now though.
Kinda spurred me onto to do a few more bits to her (why do we perceive cars to be female.......lol).

Female as they become temperamental when money’s not lavished on them :poke:

Sorry to hear that OP, hopefully it isn’t written off and you can get it sorted soon.

However, this is the second Zed I’ve seen this happen to this weekend.

I think the note to take from this is to park on a driveway wherever and whenever possible!

Around 140,000 miles on that 2.5 according to the MOT history.

Sad to say it'll probably be an insurance write off looking at the damage.

Yeah mate, I know the owner, I sold him the MV2s from my 2007 E86!

Such a shame!

That's such a shame! I rent a driveway when I go to London and when i park for work but not when I'm at home. I already found a quieter road to park on when the car is back but am considering renting a driveway somewhere.

After a few stressful weeks, I'm relieved to say the car's been fully repaired and is back on the road. The total cost has been about £7.5K including some extra bits that we decided to have replaced whilst the front end was disassembled which includes new front discs, pads and sensors, suspension bits, and 4 new wheels (gloss graphite Veemann VC359s). The most significant new bits resulting directly from the knock are - front bumper cover, left front wing, left headlight, steering rack, both front spring struts, left wheel hub, left wheel, left steering knuckle, and many other smaller items. As well as the new panels, the left door, skirt, rear wing and the bonnet were also sprayed for colour matching. I feel the car actually drives better than before, and the steering feels a lot more solid and stable. The car had very twitchy steering at motorway speeds, especially during cold weather. I still don't know what caused it but it's completely gone now. Without further ado, here are some pics :driving:

I wouldn’t place too much confidence in the driveway parking option, my drive must have been getting on for 100ft long and I was parked at the very end of it when a driverless car (yes, really) ploughed into the back of it in the middle of the night.
Despite being chased by the police the scumbag lept from the moving car, hurdled my neighbours fence and escaped justice :x

I remember following your thread when that happened. Absolutely unbelievable! I guess it's more about luck, or lack thereof.

No one would try and ditch a car on my driveway as it’s no way near 100 ft long!

Shame to hear about that though.

That's great news Iggy.

We have a duty to maintain E86 numbers - and yours looks great with those Veeman wheels!
