Oh yeah I can see that conversation in the pub:

You: Hi sexy can I buy you a drink.
Her: Sure.
You: My Z4 coupe has 32,000nm/degree torsional stiffness.
Her: OK, bye

The roadster equivalent:

You: Hi sexy can I buy you a drink.
Her: Sure.
You: I have a Z4 convertible
Her: OK, i'll go get my gay brother for you.

Eh? Are you coming out publicly on the Z4-forum? That's a first.

(you're a roadster driver judging by your sig)

The coupe has more torsional rigidity and thus handles better. If that is important.

We're talking about a handling difference that is far beyond the realms of most drivers here.

I looked at both the roadster and the coupe, i could have got the roadster well over a year earlier but soon as i saw the coupe i loved it and decided to wait for the one i REALLY wanted, it was just looks for me and thats always a personal preference.

OP, just buy a coupe and have done with it! You know you want to...

Ha... thinking strongly of changing although there is not even 1 for sale in Ireland apart from an M (which i am not i want to step up to just yet) :)

The old roadster / coupe debate rages on!! All I can add is I am wondering how many ppl have changed from a coupe to a roadster?! Cant say I have seen many "Z4C to Z4R" threads

I think the reason for this is most will be going from older models to newer ones; so to a more powerful 3.0si or M's which would not have been available as a pre facelift.

It doesnt make sense to go from a coupe to a roadster.. if you had the funds to get a newer coupe from the start and really wanted a convertible then you would have just gotten a roadster in the first place. :poke:

From those who have gone from a roadster to a coupe how many of those were facelift to facelift? :fuelfire:

Not necessarily true as I could have quite easily just swapped my pre facelift roadster for a facelift roadster but instead I swapped for a facelift coupe.. The roadster would have been by far the cheaper alternative of the two but I decided it was worth shelling out that bit more money to be exclusive and drive something a little different from the ever common sight of the roadster. Not to mention the unseasonal fluctuation in resale values etc etc etc.... :poke:
