Hi all.

I've finally got the nod from the 'boss' to get myself a Z and I've decided to have the 3.0ltr for the gorgeous sound.

Hopefully, if all goes well next weekend, I'll be picking up a 2005 model that will be going away til early next year. During that time, it'll get fully detailed and possibly a S/S exhaust fitted and a couple of subtle mods.

If this one falls thru I'll be on the look out for a 3.0 convertible circa £7k, possibly a bit more for a 2006 onwards 3.0si but these seem to be a rare commodity for the right money/miles.

Finally, this forum looks to be very friendly and informative and I'm looking forward to some decent banter when the 'beast' arrives!!

Hi and welcome.

I am amazed at the willpower you think you have - you really can resist driving it for a whole winter??

Let's hope you get the one you want and that we have an early spring!

We need pics on day of collection.

Enjoy the detailing/exhaust fitting/modding.

Hi, hope the pick up goes ok :driving:
As far as I know the original exhaust system is stainless steel?

Hi & welcome! Did you make a thread on detailing world? I advised you of this place if so

I did Jamie, yes.

Thx for the heads up as the forum as I've said, looks to be pretty decent so far.

I didn't know that, looks like that's £500 saved so far if so.

Thx for the heads up.

Nice one, look forward to seeing the new steed

Right.
Still searching and tonight I spot this low mileage beaut! Couple of questions -

Is this anyone's car on here (not in the sales section so I doubt it) or is it known?

£8250 is top money for a 2004 Z4 so is it expensive or priced right?

What price should it be if it's 'overpriced'?

Hi, low mileage cars command a premium but if you plan on using the car normally the value will drop.
They are well engineered and last very well so average miles shouldn't be feared if a car has been looked after.

Right lads and lasses, I'm going to view a 2005 3.0i SE on Sunday with FSH on 37k.

Couple of questions in regards to things I need to be on the lookout for.

Roof motor/drain holes - how can I check if this is working ok and the drain holes are not blocked
FSH - What are the service intervals and does the car have a function to say how many miles to the next service?
Wind Deflector - What type should be with the car, mesh style or clear Perspex style?

Thx in advance!!

Have a look at this thread by AlanJ - http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=21281#p300458
Hope it helps

Cheers for that buddy.

Well.

Finally took it for a drive, 5mths after buying it and keeping it cooped up in the garage since Oct 15.

Only went to Blyton racetrack near me to watch a couple of mates tracking their MX5's. I did have a Sterling Grey Z4R follow me out of Gainsborough on the way back with I think S88 as the 1st part of the reg, anyone on here maybe?

Just shy of 50miles covered today but I love it. I have the Bridgestone runflats on here as they are pretty new from the prev owner but I can't say the ride is too bad and definitely no tram lining so I'll run them until they need replacing.

So here's a couple of pics just before we set off. Not the best via the iPhone I'm afraid.

Sounds like it was worth the wait - lovely looking Zed, I think it going to be pampered somehow

Cheers Marlon.

Just need the temps to creep up a bit and we'll be out a whole lot more.

I had the DA on it yesterday but man, that BMW paint is tough. Finished off with AF Ultra Glaze and 1 layer of AF Desire.

It certainly goes well and sounds just devine.

Looks good  , I don't know how you have left it in the garage for so long especially as we haven't had a particularly
bad winter apart from all the rain, nothing like a blast out with the roof down on a cold winters day

It was always our intention to buy it and then tax and insure it the New Year Andy as I didn't need to run it in the winter as I drive a comp vehicle and the wife as a DS3.

This winter, if it's as nice as this last winter, we'll still be driving it as the tax and insurance will still be valid.

Really looking forward to some good outings in it though.
