I replaced my rod bearings at 50k purely as this car is a keeper and I wanted peace of mind. Plus for future resell value it’s going to help

There were absolute signs of wear and copper which made me happy I’d done it BUT would it have been a catastrophic failure at some point? Who knows
 
The rod bearing on the S54 will always divide people. I personally don’t feel it’s that big of an issue. Good luck your search 👍
 
I am happy to know that I will never have to get that done again, as with the mileage I do and with the strict warm up regime, they should not cause any future issues.

Yeah I saw this one earlier. I've spoken to shipz before but we couldn't find a middle ground that suited us both. Happy to open the conversation up again if @Shipz is reading this and is looking to get the car moved on👍🏻.

Looking to sell my z4Mr this month .
Sepang bronze
Black interior
No sat nav ,which looks good .
Cd changer
No after market tat on it , factory spec only .
Very good condition

Vanos done
Rod bearings and service at everything M this spring . Didn’t really need it but glad I did .
Tyres and wheels are mint
Brakes like new rotors also proper bmw ones very reluctant sale but
I’m skint and this needs to go I’m afraid.
I’m going to give a better clean and pics this weekend.
Would be looking for 17 k
Big folder of history. Very well maintained.
