Z4MR & Z4MC engine characteristics

Hello Are both variants suppose to be exactly the same in terms of the way it drives, i.e acceleration, power, etc...

Have driven two roadster and two coupes, and the coupe's feel torquier than the MR, but its the same engine for both the coupe and roadster....

???
 
Only difference mech wise is that the steering rack is slightly quicker on the coupe, otherwise they are identical.
 
Engines are the same. srhutch has highlighted the differences, except that the roadster is a better car :)

x2, and unless giving the car 10 tenths, I doubt the average driver would be able to feel much difference between the two cars.

The differences you felt could just be a reflection as to the condition of the car/ road etc.

The S54 is even better in the E46 M3 most people say & that it sounds better in that variation that's not my opinion just what I've read on a few occasions.

I thought it sounded quieter in the E46
 
If quieter is better, then it sounds better.

However this is obviously rubbish. :D

Maybe they were talking about the CSL with the Carbon Airbox?
 
I read that because of the way the exhaust is on the E46 it generated a more metallic rasp, but I agree with both of you that in theory it should sound better in the Zed as its a smaller car & less refined to deliver a better sound surely.
 
the coupe i understood has a more agressive geometry made possible due to its stiffer and therefore vastly superior chassis !! :fuelfire: :poke:
