Get over there and do it.MrPT said:mmm-five said:It's the tourist-friendly corner known affectionately as 'Crünnchen' (real name Brünnchen) - as there are usually plenty of crashes there.MrPT said:So what’s the deal there, then? Seems to be the site of a lot of tourist crashes. People go too fast down the hill, take the apex a bit early and then oversteer out of it? It certainly looks like he’s scrubbing the front tyres a long time before he gets to the run-off area and could have maybe let a little lock out instead of panicking.
Either way, pretty grim viewing. Especially since those little triangular spoiler things survived.
The trouble with the corner is that it punishes drivers who turn in too early, or too tightly, as the camber disappears just after the apex, so anyone still turning will start to understeer towards the (now wider) run-off concrete, and if they don't gather it up by then they're into the gravel.
Interesting, thanks. Yes, understeer not oversteer, of course. No doubt compounded by going uphill as well as the camber flattening out.
It sounds like a recipe for disaster, especially if people don’t do their homework and/or get caught up on the moment! The concrete looks like a horrible surface on which to try and gather it up again. Makes you wonder whether they’d be better off with a marshalled sausage kerb and tarmac run-off.
Still want to go though.![]()
