I find it hard to believe any dealer will pay much more than book for any car taken in as px and then you have factor in the money he also made on the other car he was selling .So it's a win win for the dealer at both ends . It sounds that this dealer is being greedy but that's the nature of then species in general .
All car dealers are like it as you say, this dealer is no different from any other and there price is no better or worse.
