put my deposit down today on an Z4M - just wondered if anybody knew the owner or had seen the car before.

It is an Imola Red with Champagne Extended interior.

Pick it up tomorrow - can't wait

You decided to buy one then. Enjoy! :driving:

nearly - I've put a deposit on it, but then run a HPI on it and it came up with a mileage discrepancy on this vehicle:-

11/3/09 NMR 9000 miles
11/3/09 NMR 48000 miles
26/7/09 NMR 11000 miles
27/8/09 DVLA 12000 miles
28/8/09 NMR 23000 miles
28/8/09 NMR 23977 miles
03/9/09 NMR 24000 miles

This is the data currently held on the National Mileage Database - the car has just over 11000 miles on it.

I phoned the dealer and he assured me that it has had its mileage and history verified and I will be supplied with certificates to confim this.

Still a bit confused though to where all the mileages have come from.

anybody had this before ??

I'm supposed to be picking this up tomorrow at 3

Worth haggling the price on this now. Maybe it might come down a bit. there is always a possibility of clerical error if it has been entered in the database if BMW can assure and back with warranty I dont think u need to worry. Use this pt for some price reduction. Welcome to the exclusive M club. I see u r based in worcester. I'm from worcester maybe I will see u around. where are u based. there is another guy andy who is also from worcestershire and has a red M.
Right choice and u will definitely enjoy it.

I bought an X5 that had something similar when I checked the history but it was only one clerical error and the log book was stamped and mileage noted each time.

I would have a look at the log book and check that, I assume it will only have the original inspection done and will be due a service quite soon? Dealer should also be able to verify the mileage from BMW records if the car has been in for warranty work? I would want something in writing from dealer and haggle price as well as it will inevitably make the car harder to sell on in the future unless the record can be cleaned.

Mileage is verified by the dealer and will be supplied with a certificate as proof.

I must admit, I was in two minds after reading all the stuff on the internet about clocking and did at one stage back out of the deal which is a bit embarassing.

I then calmed down abit and realised I was being a prat  - bet I've been called some names today

The dealer pointed out that it is very hard to clock these cars and would not allow it on their system and provide warranty for it if there was any doubt.

Does seem strange though so I will try and contact the National Mileage Database and see what they have got to say.

The dealer is also doing a brake fluid and oil service before pickup which looks now to be Monday..

Why don't you get the name of the previous owner off the V5, try and get their number and give them a ring to see

looks like I'll be picking it up now tomorrow..

where is the gunk and compressor kept for the mobility pack ?

In my Alpina it is in the left side of the trunk but can't remember seeing anything in the ///M

cheers :D

I have always operated under the maxim - 'If in doubt - walk away', it's you hard earned cash that's at risk so why take it. Sytner should be able to put you in touch with the previous keeper where you can confirm the mileage, it's in their interest to do so as they want the sale (and you can find out what the trade in price was to assist in haggling a better deal). If by now you have got the motor I hope its OK and enjoy it!
