Z4MC

Morning all,

I've just bought a Z4MC so thought I should come on here and say 'hello'. I have come over from the E46 forum (I had a 325Ci) and it was great for knowledge as well as procrastination.

My story stems from a spin in an E46 M3 down the cote d'azure by a guy that was something to do with product development for a major tyre company. To say he understood the limits of grip was an understatement. At the time I couldnt justify an M3 as a first car... now it seems all the M3's have been murdered. A Z4MC will just have to do (its a hard life).

First impressions: Clutch is a pig in town. Cant see anything out of my rear view mirror (Im tall so the angle has me looking down at the road. Parking is guesswork). Cant quite find a comfortable driving position (drove it back from Nottingham to Edinburgh on Saturday). I also went up cobbles and nearly lost my teeth.

I care about none of the above. Its a fabulous, grin inucing motor that really feels like it is something special. The engine is intoxicating. Surprisingly I also managed 30mpg on the 300 mile trip home (more than i managed in the 325).

I intend on keeping it very stock and keep the mileage down, I dont think I even want to change to the stubby. However (sit down for this) I plan on adding a bike rack...

Pictures will be incoming (if it stops raining in Edinburgh).

Thanks for a new home!

Welcome, glad you're enjoying the car and its quirks.
Do we get to see some photos and details of it? :)

the only photos i have are from the dealer.

I thought it was sapphire black but it seems to have a bronze / red tinge to it. Red and black leather sounds a bit... porno... but i really like it!

It really is in mint condition. The only fault I could find is that the M badge on the engine cover is a little warped. Its a credit to its previous owner (not sure if he was a member on here - but LUK should ring a bell?)

56k miles, no sat nav (dont mind getting lost in this and google maps is probably better anyway), heated seats, BMW business, bloothtooth, aircon...

anyway without further aplomb

Welcome, lovely looking motor, even if it does have a roof :D

Sounds like you may actually have a ruby black, as sapphire has blues and greens in it. Ruby is a lovely colour, especially in the sun.

As for all the M3s having been murdered - made me chuckle

Welcome along :) You should enjoy this place, cracking forum.

Zed looks great, I know what you mean about looking out of the rear view mirror.... Love the colour combination. Enjoy

Hi and welcome, as Bing said might be Ruby Black. Hard to tell from the pics though. When the sun shines then you'll know.

This is the last bastian of sensibility considering I live in Scotland! I was explaining to my (now ex) Bulgarian girlfriend why there are convertables in the UK. Its like the whole aisle that gets taken up by barbeques and garden furniture in the spring. People buy them not because they are going to use them but because they have some strong sense of optimism. (convertables do look damn good though)

That much is already clear. Not just petrol heads but actual human beings... mostly :P

Then enter your VIN in here http://www.bmwarchive.org/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html
