Hi,
I've searched on here for last 30 minutes but can't find an answer, so hope you can help.
Just been into the garage to check \ drool over the new car, a 2007 Z4MC with 21k miles. It has Nav, HiFi (non-DSP) and BMW supplied i-pod lead in glove box. When I switch the ignition to position 1 I get a slight hissing through the speakers. This is obviously the amp powering up, despite there being no source to amplify. On my drive home with the car last weekend I was also aware of this noise when cruising at 70 (ears like a bat!).
Can I do anything to stop this, i.e. change the amp setting so that it powers up only when it receives a signal? Or is it something I'm stuck with due to the Nav system, requiring the speakers be always ready to bark out instructions? Do other similarly specced cars do this as well?
Advice appreciated, cheers
