Ok, heading back on the M40 today, and in front is a Z4MC...and we're driving at 125, and it still pulled strongly and briskly away from me.....kept up, but still felt it had more there in reserve - so perhaps wishful thinking on my part, but for sure the M Z's can pretty much crush any E89 there is, including 35iS

Yep ... Roadster is quicker too ;)

Might wanna edit ur post tho matey, u probably shouldn't admit to that (:

if you're on the M40 near Warwick call in & we can do some 3rd gear motorway comparisons :driving:

Z4m(c/r) is lighter and more powerful than the 35i.. No chance of competing.. But then the M's chew juice so you'd make up time in the 35i while the M's refill and catch up. :driving:

he ment 1.25pm

yes 125 KPH of course.....who on earth can do 125MPH?? thats just crazy!!! Thats like someone doing 150 on the M6 toll road after just having got their car....KPH of course....

I'm sure a 35i would make for a tough adversary with all that torque down low but the M's higher redline and more power up top would push it in the lead. I dont think we could beat a 35is though... Once the E89's turbos spool up it's going to take some very hard work from the M just to keep up.

It'd be very interesting to see an M5board type drag race between those too!

I reckon it would be pretty close, but could see the 35is edging it. Would love to see them head to head though!

I was on the approach road to Bicester Village from the M40....that would make an ideal road for a drag race...maybe one day will get a chance to see how it pans out.....not sure I fancy the hard edge of the 35iS though...but want to change my car soon

I test drove the 35is and my impression was the newer car would just edge it as well, very close though

Whats the comparrison between the 35i and 35iS ...BHP and 0-60....

Just checked 306/340 BHP and 5.2/4.8....quite a difference.

I'd still like to give it a try in my 35i!

I think the M would be quicker to 100mph because its over 100kg lighter than the 35iS with only a BHP or two less. But from a rolling start I think the 35iS would have the advantage.

Well I'm going to be brave and offer the challenge.....drag race on the London Meet...my 35i against an M.....£50 and lunch on me....just need to find a stretch of road and.....

Sold my Range Rover last week, and now thinking about my next move, and was debating between a Panamera or a Maser GT - but both have shocking issues with residuals.unless you got for a Porsche 4S...ideally want to keep my Z and get a new car, but it may be that I get rid and get just one new one.....very confused and looking at so many cars.

Problem is that I think the Z is such a beautiful car, especially in white, and I really would like to keep it. Got budget of about 50 if I keep it, so not sure which way to go. Vantage is a possibility but as silly as you will all think this sounds, I prefer the Z, even as a comparison.

I think I will go for a new RRS in the summer......but then again. I can't wait that long.... :headbang:
