Z4MC Possible purchase.

OP - I like the look of this one possibly worth a viewing. With FBMWSH you should be able to take out extended warranty. Also there should be a little more negotiating power with an independent dealer,,,, :?

Yes looks good. The problem is most of the cars advertised are over 200 miles away from me and I would be reluctant to do any sort of deal without seeing it first.

Unfortunately with these cars you do tend to need to travel in order to find the right one. With condition and availability being two difficult issues it means one has to be prepared to travel and potentially view a few lemons before the right one appears. Good luck!
 
theirs ALOT of rough z4m's out their, lots of people have picked them up cheap and used and abused them then moved on, to find a really top notch car with full S/H and in what id call A1 condition with under 4 owners is a rare car now days.... even more so in the colour you want, i very rarely see another one on the road, certain that one day these will start creeping back up decently in price, may take a good few years however. I'm here for the long haul however!

I agree. I bought mine in Oxford. Flight from Edinburgh to Heathrow and short bus ride to collect. 450 epic miles on the way home :D
 
Have to agree with the last three posts! I was lucky mine was local ish.....She's not perfect but then again I didn't pay a price for perfect!

On another note - would OP consider have an Inpspection done? by RAC or similar? It costs a bit, but worth having if the car is far away - before you waste your time etc....
 
Get an inspection done,its a no brainer,I put a deposit down on mine then had it taken to the local bmw dealer,who did an AUC inspection for me,it cost £220,but they were very thorough,flagged up some minor things,like no locking nuts on the wheels,squeaky wiper blades,they also commented on the notchy gear change from 1st to 2nd,which is a common quirk with these cars,the name of the technician who did the inspection was on the report,so I was able to phone up & speak to him,nice chap,& he spent 10 minutes talking me through the inspection & what he found,concluding that it was a sound car in great condition,well worth the money,peace of mind for £220.
 
Deposit paid. Took me a while and I don't normally suffer from dithering when buying a car, just needed to make sure I was doing the right thing. The car has Full BMWSH verified low mileage of 38k and only 2 owners and a years warranty so the basics are right. I like the carbon black and the red seats. The only things I would change are the lack of sat-nav and the road tax!!! Considered 911's and Cayman's but the engine problems have put me off until the 2009 onwards cars are more reasonably priced. Even considered TT's but unless you get the RS you are compromising. The Z4M is the best bang for your buck out there.

It is the best bang for buck, totally agreed. There's not much else performance wise that's quicker for under £30k. Even then, the relative performance increase for the extra spend hardly justifies it IMO :)
