Z4mc paint correction

No need to get your frock up just because not all on the forum think some of the comments are correct, thats what its here for :nahnah:

Got to see it from beedub’s side though ..... how would feel if someone undercut and devalued your job role ? Probably wouldn’t be happy would you .

Anyway .... back on topic , I’m loving the fresh look my paint now has , and strangely it’s made me enjoy the car a bit more :driving:

I did a full correction on mine a few years back and given the amount of work involved I certainly wouldn't do it for just £150.

It looks good though and seeing as he uses a paint depth gauge you'd assume he knows what he's doing and will take care with it. As ever, you pays your money...

Sorry didn’t realise you did this for work

That’s what these chaps use ... rupes and also the ceramic they used was gtechniq ... I’ve also had ( and have a bottle ) of siramik ... which i think is better than the gtechniq stuff but I’ve been told it’s very hard to work with .

i do... and very proudly so , amongst other things. You got a great deal.

I need my M3 done, what’s your website and where you based?

Cheers

Backbreaking tbh!

It was the first time I'd used a machine so I took my time and went gently. Seemed to take ages to get out some really fine hazing in the last phase but managed it eventually. Having done my girlfriends silver z3 I'd probably say I preferred doing mine as I could see the defects more easily, but then I guess that's what makes them buggers to get spot on!

what you explain is very normal, and bending over etc is actually crazy the level of fatigue on the body over a prolonged period.

For a daily used £5k Z4....maybe even a £12k Z4M, spending £000's on a top-level professional detail doesn't make a lot of sense to most people. If that chap can deliver those results for £150 then I'd bet that 95% of people would be more than happy with that, so need to hate on that IMO

Beedub (and other top detailers) will always only appeal to the 5% who want next level results. For those people, most will pay what it requires.

Theres a guy i know in West Yorkshire who works on the car all day,he works from home in his garage, and measures thickness of paintwork before he starts......the paint work in the first pic is the same in the detailed finish below it,he charged £150 cash

That TVR has came out amazing, what a difference to the dull paint in the first pic.
I would rather use someone who knew what they were doing and had experience in what they are doing no matter what the cost rather than someone who had only been doing it a few months and charge a fortune when you have no idea of their experience.
Just because somebody has a certificate doesn't make them an expert.
Some of the best workers work out of their own garage with no overheads or advertising. Just because someone has fancy signs in a new unit doesn't mean a thing.
Facebook seems to be a growbag for new businesses as anybody can set up a business and advertise on facebook. There are thousands of people using this now as a way to con money out of others as some people think they are legitimate businesses when some of them are just losers working out of their mums spare bedroom.

Do you know what Paint Gauge he uses for measuring the thickness of the different layers of paint on a fibreglass car.
