Z4MC Owner here

Beautiful motor mate. Same as mine but you have seomthing I don't - cruise. That being said, one can retrofit ofc and I haven't often thought "I wish I had cruise" - apart from those riddiculous 50mph motorway zones ofc. Tax will tell you it's one of 43 or something with Sapphire and Imola, never got round to asking him about the piano black, seat warmers etc.
Cracking motor, take care.

Thank you guys.

And Taz, don't worry I wont be leaving the coupe club any time soon 8)

Very nice. Pity about the demise of the most stylish feature - the whippy aerial!

lol well, it had to be done unfortunately. Did the exact same thing on my previous coupe.

Thanks Stevo. To be honest, cruise control was the only extra I wasn't bothered about, don't think I will be using it often.
And yes the colour combo really did draw me to the car. Originally I was going for Interlagos Blue, but Black just looks super cool especially with the Imola seats. Its especially nice to know that this particular colour combo is rare. Always liked to be unique.

Have just bought black hole glaze, CG jet seal and CG Pete's 53. Will have a good go at it at the weekend.

Be interested to hear how you get on with that lot. The one i just bought is Ruby Black so i expect i will need something similar to keep it looking good and i am yet to go out and do the new car cleaning product purchase :)

Feel free to PM me some pics after the first clean

Well done sir!

A fine purchase a lovely colour combo.

Liking the piano black too! Although it's a nightmare to keep clean and scratches so easily.

Welcome along to the forum!

Ain't that the truth... :|

Lovely car. :)

Wonder if you could get away with a clear vinyl over the piano black? Would have to be uber clean when applied but could help prevent scratches etc.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the nice words. I know exactly what you mean about the piano black dash, but mine luckily doesn't have hardly any marks. What do you guys use to clean it with? Normal interior cleaner?

'simonlpearce' I have just added a thread in the 'Gallery' section about my day of cleaning the MC. I will also add my opinion of the products I used so you get an idea.

Hey Chris,

Just signed up to say "nice car" - I should know as I was the previous owner for 5 years. ;)

I'm glad to see it has gone to a good home - I absolutely loved the car and was sad to see it go.

If you've ever got any questions or issues with the car, feel free to drop me a message.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. :)

Cheers,
Lee

Hi Lee,

Wow that's amazing. So cool to speak to the previous owner :)
Looks like you maintained the car really well. I was particularly impressed with the paperwork and the history of the car, that to me is more important than anything.

And yes don't worry It has gone to a good home

No issues with the car so far, the 02 sensor went on the first day, but Russell quickly sorted that out and it's perfect.

I am still fairly new to M ownership so appreciate the offer of any answers to questions I may have in the future

Thanks :)

Hey Chris,

Superb! Russell is a good guy, glad to hear he sorted you out, although I'm genuinely surprised the oxygen sensor went as they should be fairly new. :-o I've actually had 3 of the oxygen sensors replaced during my ownership - Although only one of them was a genuine failure (about 42k miles in, I think). The others were red herrings caused by the battery being weak and needing replaced (so that's nearly brand new for you as well).

Other things that have been replaced were the throttle actuator (early days of ownership, about ~32k miles in) and the front brake discs (~39k miles in). All in all I don't think any of those were particularly drastic or completely unexpected failures, and the car has been extremely mechanically/electrically sound. So I think you're on to a winner. ;-)

I'll probably hang around the forum anyway - Should have joined about 5 years ago when I actually had the car. ;-) I'm currently in the interim of not having a real replacement car - I'm driving a 04 Mini Cooper atm (mostly because it'll hold its value while I use it). Not quite in the same league I'm sure you'll agree, lol. Going to wait until next year to pick something up (potentials are E92 M3 or W204 C63 AMG). Will see how it goes!

Not sure any replacement is going to be quite the same as the Z4MC, but unfortunately I really need backseats now (you can guess why!)

Cheers,
Lee

Hi Lee,

Yeah the mechanic said the 02 sensor looked almost new, but still showed up as faulty for some reason.

To be honest when I sold my Z4 coupe, I was whacking my brain trying to figure out what I wanted as a replacement. I took a liking to the 911 996 C4S, but just couldn't resist the Z4MC. I really loved my coupe, but wanted more power, so it made sense really.

The only problem I am having with the MC so far is keeping it looking tip top, as black is so hard to keep looking good all the time as you well know. But I really am loving it :D

Both the M3 and C63 are great cars, personally I would sway towards the M3. Keep me posted on your decision though as I am curious to find out

Thanks,
Chris

Feel your pain on the keeping it clean front. It's so hard to resist pulling the windscreen washer stalk in case the headlight washers activate at the same time, lol.
