You were either driving the M like you stole it, or you've got a fuel leak somewhere.

I get 14mpg on the 'Ring!

I even got 24mpg on our Welsh hoon last weekend, and the other drivers there can tell you we weren't driving Miss Daisy.

I get 27mpg with a mix of A roads and motorways mainly. That's not hanging around compared to everyone else either!
 
I have a Z4C 3.0SI and I love it.

It's incredibly fast, and the sport button gives enough of a split personality from casual relaxed driving with enough power to Full on assault.

I've never had issues keeping up with my mates E46 M3 with the added bonus of it being rare enough and much better looking without the costs of owning an M.

Don't get me wrong, the M is a beast and a different drive, but if you're not feeling the cost issues, then go for the 3.0.
You will not be disappointed and I certainly don't have any M envy.

It's such a sexy car, end of.

Mine is a daily driver so to me it makes more sense not to have an M, and again I don't regret it and it appeals to my heart as well as my head.
 
For me the big draw for the ///M is the styling.

From the rear both cars look fantastic.

However, from the front the ///M looks a completely different class.

The front bumper on the 3.0 is a bit of a damp squib for me. I appreciate this may not be the popular consensus, but I really think the front of the 3.0 lets it down.
 
FDifference between a fast car & a very fast car as articulated so well by Woots.

My preface lift 3.0 has too much spent on it already, so although I love many things about them even as a second car can't justify the expense, although I am wavering every so often
 
A few thoughts so far.
Right now the money is no problem really, We've sold our flat and are currently renting and looking for something to buy.
I'm from Yorkshire though.
If I can get something that is 90% there, for 80% of the price I'll do that rather than lay out the extra.
I'm 40, so the ke$ha/Pixie quote almost goes straight over my balding head. :?

The OH, who is going to have this as her car, as I have a daily work appliance, is not that fussed either. She has had a ride in a mate's cerbera and erm....loved it.... and then went on PH to check how much they were. Talked her out of it as a daily driver as she is mechanically unsympathetic, useless in a stranded situation, and doesn't know the coolant from the brake fluid. I can't be arsed with the "Its broken again" phone calls from the side of the road.

I think we're going to have to try the M. :driving:
Anyone know of an M for sale near Notts? We've had an Si out already, so have a view on that already.
 
Nearly convinced yourself havent you.

If anything the ///M is mechanically stronger than the Si.

Thats the only problem with the ///M's. They are quite rare. If you need to find one locally you may have a wait for the right one. Most people searching accept that the search will be nationwide to find the right car.

You won't regret it, the only thing I regret is selling it!
 
I have an M it's brilliant. But so is the 3.0si in my opinion. Drive examples of both with the OH and find which suits you best. Most of the differences have been covered very articulately by previous posters on the thread! :wink:
