He could have at least come up with something original. Someone saw a picture of a bunch of us together on a PH meet and called us the "Pistonwags" which I actually had a chuckle at. Have to say it's no coincidence the people who usually say these kind of things drive around in clapped out old bangers or cars which nobody would piss on if they were on fire never mind take a second glance.

It is a stupid expression really. How many hairdressers do you know that could affored a Z4MC?! Most I know on are minmum wage for a start!

  nice Lucy.
He hasn't posted back either so he's obviously a bit of a Pu**y too!

I don't mind any car if it been done up well and the driver isn't some complete to**er.

Considering I spent 25 laps in this car thrashing it around the 'ring, I feel that I am qualified to call it a hairdresser's car :P. The fact that it was two men that went to the 'ring together in it, made me fear that people would think we were a couple, as it's hardly a man's car ;) :poke: .

As to being jealous, er I think not. Although my daily driver was a Freelander, I am lucky enough to own several cars, one of which is as an E90 M3 :P. Also, FYI, the chavvy Escort runs a reasonable amount of power as this Mclaren driver discovered....

i love escort cosworths.

focus rs' never came in orange.

the guy is a moron who always has to be correct.

Well, when I'm right I'm right and when I'm wrong I'm wrong ;). I just think all two-seater front-engined cars feel a bit girly (unless they have stupid amounts of power to make them feel scary). It was just a tongue in cheek comment and I was surprised that it created such a ruffling of feathers (but not enough for anyone to call me on it face to face on the thread :P. I only found this by accident when someone posted on the Escort forum having discovered the thread (by doing a search for "hairdresser's cars" ;).

it's always nice to have a bit of car banter anyway.

i get it every day in work from someone who drives a scooby and the other drives a mondeo running on 3 cylinders

I always seem to buy cars that evoke opinion, my X5... are you a drug dealer?, my TVR...have you got an annual breakdown membership with that! & now Z4M...Hairdressers car! our TT-S...oh another Hairdressers car, there isnt any hope for me now!

Well having a TT as well moves you up to "Beautician" status ;).

Yep, see post at the top of this page, I only saw it this morning.

I just felt it a bit puerile some of the posts made, giving the one I made was tongue-in-cheek and just wanted to redress the balance. Given I am a BMW owner as well :driving:, I just thought I would put the record staight  .

Generally the forum members are a friendly bunch....

Forum etiquette is for newbies to post an intro in Newbies section with pics of their car..... 8) (EDIT - I think we need to see some pics of your BMW so we know you're real  )

Do I have to put a tin of Bird's Custard up as well, or will this suffice? ;)
